Looking for “stiff” roundwounds ?

I have used 45-105 Lo Rider nickels for a couple of decades. My favorite roundwound. I dont know all the sciencey reasons why they are good, but they please me wholeheartedly.

....my opinion based on the strings I tried is the following, sorted by the stiffest (all 45-105 NPS hex core):

3. Rotosound RB45 Roto Bass
4. Warwick 41200 Yellow Label
5. GHS 3045 Bass Boomers
6. Ken Smith Burner
7. Dunlop DBN45105
8. DR Nickel Lo-Rider NMH-45
9. Fender 7250M.....

Since my BB is strung with a 45-105 set of Boomers, I have selflessly elected to try a set of RB45 on it next, so I can add a second opinion to this snippet

I 100% agree with this estimation that Boomers are a fair bit stiffer than the Fenders, and that the Roto Bass are a tiny bit stiff still. Most noticeably on the E string, which for me is the Boomers weak spot.

For what it's worth, I'm finding it easier to play cleanly with the Roto Bass vs the Boomers, but it's harder to play expressively. And I had to do a lot of fiddling with eq settings on amps etc going from one to the other – the Roto Bass is much more narrow sound. I suspect that I'll go back to the Boomers, but I'll enjoy giving the Roto Bass a chance.
