Looking for a good Amp Bag

Hey as the title says I am looking for a good amp bag not a case. I was looking at laptop bags but since my amp is 19 Inches wide and 15 inches deep pretty much nothing fits. I am looking to get something locally and since the gig skinz bags are only ordered over the internet and also not deep enough I need something less specialized.

So what do you guys suggest?

Alex

I have a SVT-3PRO (19x 3.5x 15") that I did not want to put in a rack case OR a rack bag, but I still wanted a good case for transport.

www.undercovernyc.com

makes the best covers and cases.

It was a bit pricey, but well worth it- padded, accessory pouch for cables and cord, carrying handle and strap, perfect fit, large velcro opening- They even had an Ampeg logo patch added on for me.

I recommend them highly for any custom-quality work.

Actually, they make covers only, for some cabs and the SVT-CL/AV-V4Bh heads.
I ordered one for my SVT-15E- They're pretty nice and well-priced with the Ampeg Logo, but nothing in the way of a rack bag or rack case, or anything like I assume the OP wanted...

Thank you, I will definitly look into them. The reason I can't go with any of the gig skinz or other such bags is that they aren't deep enough. the 2U one is only 13" deep.

But this will definitly work. :D

If anybody else has something they use that works well for them please feel free to post!

You're welcome!

Pro-tec makes a very nice 2-Space rackbag for about $75.00 or so, but as I mentioned I didn't want my 3-PRO head mounted in a rack bag; I just wanted a good case for it.

UnderCover does phenomenal work- They'll make to measure any size, depth, etc you need. They once did a cover for a Mesa Booge "Wedge" combo for me that no one else (Tuki, LeCover, etc.) wanted any part of! Took over 19 measurements, but they got the job done !

The Carrying case I had them make is totally padded and secure, fits like a glove- They specialize in this type of case for studio gear and such, so the quality is the best.
They also make a re-inforced series of amp/speaker cab covers second to none.

All this and their turn-around time is pretty good too!
Like I said, not cheap, but WELL worth it for the product they make.

Good luck with finding what you want, from them or elsewhere.

Should work.

I liked the way the 3-Pro sat on my speaker cab.
Possible scratching from rack-rash aside I just preferred to utilize the head by itself, not enclosed in either a sleeve or a rack bag with rails. I did need a good way to transport the head though, and this case does the job perfectly.

Sorry I should've been clearer, I meant a link for the pro tec rack bag. I couldn't find that specifically.

Here's the link to the Company product info...
Looks like you can purchase direct.
These were at one time available from Zzounds & Music 123 for about $75, but I don't see them listed there anymore.
Might want to check those and other online retailers out though.

These are nice rack-bags, nicer than gator IMO, and a soft bag was better to me than a SKB-type hard case.

If you can't find one, the Undercover option I had made was only minimally more than the listed Protec price, with the advantage (at least to me) of being removable from the case.

A lot of players prefer rack-bagging, and just zipping open the ends to plug in and play. Just a personal preference, but I liked the head on it's own.

Pro-Tec's a nice product though.

You don't mention the amp your using; seems odd that it wouldn't fit a standard 2-space rack case or bag.
At any rate, if you really like the head, and it's a keeper and one that you use a good deal, and need a transport/protection method, back to square one with UnderCoverNYC!

They will fabricate a made-to-measure case, like you originally asked for, I'll venture to say for about $125-150.

If that's not too steep (it isn't for the quality, I'll guarantee that aspect) and you definitley are going to stay with that head, give them a try.
I don't know of any other options, there are some soft "generic" gear cases in miscellaneous sizes I've seen, but IMO a bass amp head needs a proper fit and good protection, even in a soft case.

Colorado Case Company quoted me, but they were WAY high...

Keep looking out for something, or have one made by UnderCover!

I knew I forgot something. It's a Kustom Groove 1200 HD.
I hope this whole thing with undercover works out. Thanks for all of your help!

No prob.
If a case similar to the pic I posted will work for you; don't worry, they can build it! Just give them the dimensions, or a link to Kustom's site. They'll get it done.

Should cost around $125-150. Not cheap, but they're top quality, and as they explained to me, it's labor intensive to
fabricate them.

Hope it works for you- If that's what you want, they're the Man!
