Looking for a good overdrive unit/pedal.

MXR M181 Blowtorch...way better than M80 in valve like overdriven sounds. I know that soundclips or youtube videos show M181 mostly as psychosynthfuzz. But When you set Blend around 10-12hours, gain around 9-10hours or less. EQ settings by your taste(or better said by your bass and amp etc.) same with mid shift. WIth such settings I am able to make my SWR sound like overdriven tube amp(and I dont mean SVT midscooped, high/bass boosted kind of sound, which seems to be very popular these days as tube amp reproduction...) and let me say that I´ve pushed few tubeamps to natural overdriven position during my basslife so I think Iam experienced in this problematics.
.
I dont understand why most reviewers set MXR knobs just for wild fuzz...

I know its hard to believe, and I was very doubtful after all youtube videos and soundclips that it can do anything like mild overdrive - but it can do and believe or not it can do it very well...

Check out Catalinabread. ...... Their SFT is supposed to be designed for bass so it retains the bottom end. Their pedals are very touch sensitive. Pluck hard and they break up, back off and the tone cleans up so you can control your tone with your fingers.

I also have a VT Bass which I really like. It is more Hi-Fi and less touch sensitive than the WIIO which has a better less blatty overdrive tone.
NICE.
That SFT looks cool.

Dark and throaty like a cranked tube amp, good dark sustain and feedback.

He's not cheap, but it does like u say.. True overdrive, not fuzz.
It has a clean blend, treble and bass controls and more. I bought the 12 volt dual tube version but he makes a 9 volt/ single tube version too.

Interesting...
I couldn't find the pedal you're speaking of...maybe I'll dig a lil deeper..

im not looking for a fuzz effect or something that would accentuate highs to high degree but rather something that would retain as much bottom end as possible. im looking more for an overdrive smiler to when you overdrive tube amp. i have the sansamp vt bass pedal but i was just wondering if theres any other effect units/pedals out there that would fit the following description. what would you guys recommend?

How about something that isn't an OD/Dist box...would an EQ pedal like the MXR M-108 maybe serve your needs? 10-band graphic EQ, Level and Gain sliders.
