Looking for a mildly offensive PJ bass

Might be more than mildly offensive to some, particularly members of the Rickenbacker Club! But active PJ bass that actually plays and sounds surprisingly good (don't own one, just had to plug it in when I saw it at GC)

Not very 80's aside from the headstock and sharkfins, however this indeed has got to be the most offensive PJ ever made! And I'm not even a Ric nerd!

Get off fender American performer. They make a few colors, I think the Lake Placid blue would fit your description. There are three tones Sunburst is a little offensive too lol (It’s not a traditional 3 ton Sunburst). It actually has a pretty aggressive sound with the Yosemite pick ups, which I love.

Quite often I wander if the Fender American Performer basses aren’t their best sounding line of products………………

Yamaha SBV-550 flying samurai...

Real aggressive/offending looks AND pickups (punchy & gnarly in your face). I own a 2001 SBV-500, also in candy apple red, best Jazz Bass I've owned (same mood, barking aggressive). Lovely skinny neck also, and hangs from a strap much better than the outrageous body shape might suggest.

The best part of this thread is that pretty much everybody on TB really likes a particular, special PJ that most everybody else hates.

Our love for ONE particular PJ (no no, not THAT one. Gross.) that is roundly ridiculed by everybody is the sparkly, Traben-bridged, expanding foam glue that makes us brothers.

I’m looking for suggestions on a PJ bass, something loud, bright color, maybe a bit offensive. Yes, you may joke that all PJ basses are offensive.

Here’s my front runner, the Charvel San Dimas High School Rules PJ in Ferrari Red.

something destined for a rock cover band, 1980’s vibe. Fender Jazz bass special another contender.
