Looking for a new cool bass

I'd just go for a straight P. It nails the tone you're describing and has wider string spacing.

^ thats what I was thinking too... just a straight P. The necks are too wide for me but I like SR necks too so the opposite of my likes may be your likes.

Well, I am not looking for a super wide neck, just a bass that has more space between strings than my current ibanez GSR205 (the strings are way too close, and I don't like that); but that doen't means I wan't something big, I guess I'd like just something with a little more space, but not that it is too wide.
