Looking for a Ric copy

That website says "USA" everywhere but it is obviously for promotional purposes only. They may be based in the US, but they clearly make nothing here (like so many others) and I've never seen so much blatant apostrophe abuse.

In my view, buying an old Ric copy from the 60s or 70s is one thing, but buying one of those newer models is messed up. I guess its okay if you live outside the US where its harder and way more expensive to get the real thing, but having a new one imported feeds the crooks. IMO.

Schecter Stargazer = OK. Not really a direct copy.
Univox, Ibanez, Greco = OK. I think they quit making em a long time ago. And they are built well.
Tradetang Brands = Shameful. :spit:

To each their own. Just MY .02.

thats why I wrote..."USA company Bass made in Korea.

some people may not be able to afford a New or even a used Ric.

I have one but I paid under $1000 for it. I love mine and other than my Gibson Explorer that I just got a few months back, nothing else has ever felt as good to me.
I tried for many years to have a back up that I could live with. If it wasnt for the Gibson I would have pulled the trigger on the Dillion. When I saw it, the price tag was $549 and I think they were going to drop it to $499 for me. hands on that bass was a fine backup beater Ric copy.

I played a Stargazer also, utter crap and the P/U's were horrible.

While I appreciate Ric's commitment to their Trademark....they are sometimes unfair with raising prices and making the market greedy just because they cant keep up with demand

The Dillion ones look pretty nice but the price seems high if just looking for copy. It seems like it weasnt that long that finding actual ricks used for $600 and less wasn't that hard. And new ones was easilly got for $999 with case included. What seems a fairly recent price jump just baffles me.

Nicest rick copy Ive played was a 1970's Ibanez lawsuit rick copy. Maybe you can find one of these if lucky. Wishes you good luck, lol.
