Comparing the same gauges, there is no perceivable difference between the SS Lo-Riders and the Nickel Lo-Riders in terms of stiffness/flexibility. What one might notice is the Nickel LRs are slightly smoother-feeling in term of the surface texture.

For mostly this exact reason, I've recently switched from DR to Dunlop Super Bright Nickel and SS sets and have been pretty happy (plus they're less expensive).

All repliers except one didn't specify the gauges of what they are suggesting, the gauges will determine actual and perceived tension.

Sunbeams are roundcores and roundcore is noticiably less tension.
You can try the nickels hexcores DR.
I think they are called Lo-Riders Nickel.
The same but stiffer.

Funny, Im thinking of switching to the Sunbeams from rotosounds.

The OP is looking for a stiffer alternative to the Sunbeams because they're a little too flexible. I don't think the Pure Blues will help as they're just as flexible as the Sunbeams.

50 to 110 Sunbeams. I bought my set in Bass Strings Online. Same tone with better tesion.

Sunbeams had been my go-to for years. Tastes change, and I was looking for a bit of a different feel. I recommend trying Sadowsky Blue Label nickel rounds 45-105, which have a bit more tension (hex core), and a really sweet warm sound of their own. They are not quite as easy on the fingers as the Sunbeams, but the adjustment is quite do-able.
