Looking for beginner bass amp.

Looking for a beginner bass amp. After not finding time before to play and learn bass I'm going to dedicate myself to do it. I recently bought a bass, classic vibe 70s p. Now I'm looking for a practice amp. The ampeg vr micro has caught my eye. Was thinking I could swing that and practice with headphones for a bit until I save up for a cab. Or the other option is maybe a fender rumble 100. Thoughts? BTW I play mostly, punk rock and metal.

You're on the right trail! More power and speaker cone area aren't just for max volume, but also help with being able to cleanly and effortlessly play deep lows at quiet to moderate volumes as well.

Getting a really good combo amp now will even allow you to jam with buddies when you're ready, and even play small gigs! Micro vr is a great little amp. Easy to use with a very simple layout. And it sounds killer. I'd match it with a 112av cabinet though. Not the 210av. The 12av cabs are beast.
