I remember a guy who was on the forums who said he lived near KC and had done a lot of repairs to things like hill billy patches he found in old basses.

If you mean Bob Branstetter, he retired and left TB quite a while ago. A huge loss, as far as I'm concerned - knowledgeable and cranky, an excellent combination!

No it was someone else. Talked about pulling the top off a bass and seeing hill billy repairs from old wood paneling. Cant remember his handle on here.

Bob probably dosent repair anymore and im not sure i could afford him right now.

I fond wood paneling in a bass a few years ago...ha...im no luthier however...havnt touched that bass in a few years - if your still looking, look up "Bill's Violin" he is the most economical in town - near worlds of fun. Tell him Tim sent ya......
