My thumb has Delano pickups that do that. You can put setups like that in any bass, granted some allot easier than others if you don't have to route the body at all. View attachment 2874856

Why did the Big Al stop production? Did it not sell well?

I don't know considering the acclaim they have garnered on here. Im sure they had some marketing/ economic reason. I think the game changer model was designed to replace the big al and so they stopped the big al in favor of the game changer. Much to the chagrin of big al fans everywhere.

The Game Changer is pretty innovative and cool, but I think I’d still prefer the Big Al.

I would agree, and I think musicman found that most bass players preferred the big al. To me, the game changer seemed very similar to the vox guitars with effects added into the guitar. Way too much. My dad has one of the old starstreams with distortion, vibrato, and wah switches on the body. Neat idea, not so good in practice. I could see musicman coming out with a new bass with the big al electronics and a less george jetson style body.
