Looking for subtle sub-octave ability...

I have a Boss VF-1 which offers some synth and octaving abilities. I really like the Synth sounds, but I'm not in love with the octaving.

What are out there that could add a subtle sub-octave sound to my existing rig. I'm talking specifically something like my playing B and hearing 100% of that B along with say 50% of a B that's one octave down.

Looking for something very dance clubby sounding.

THoughts?

Possibly more pedal than you're looking for, but the Zoom B2.1u has a decent Octaver that can go below or above and you can set the volume of the effect note.

On a completely different tack, you could always try a dbx subharmonic synthesizer. It works a little differently, but it gets the job done as far as huge low end. I had a house engineer tell me he'd drag out to the alley and punch me out if I didn't turn the damn thing off! I got mine for $25 at a pawn shop.

It will track as low as you can go and is much more subtle than just having a note that is below the note you are playing. Just makes it bigger.
