Looking for subtle sub-octave ability...

I have a Boss VF-1 which offers some synth and octaving abilities. I really like the Synth sounds, but I'm not in love with the octaving.

What are out there that could add a subtle sub-octave sound to my existing rig. I'm talking specifically something like my playing B and hearing 100% of that B along with say 50% of a B that's one octave down.

Looking for something very dance clubby sounding.

THoughts?

Wait - one octave BELOW an open B? :eyebrow:

No... thinking about using it specifically for a Pink song. It wouldn't go down to an open B on a 5'r. Would just repeat from B, down to F, then A, Bb, B again for what seems like foreeeeeeevvveeeerrrrrrrrr. So it would only be octaving down to what 'would' be a Low open B on a 5 string bass.

Just trying to keep myself entertained during the brainlessness.

:-)

the oc-3 has pretty poor tracking, and it goes out of tune below a D (that is, open d) unfortunately. the drive mode is fun, kind of "soft" i dont know how useful it would be though

It's definately a useable pedal if you tweak it though.

although I would say the Micro POG is better...

I tried the POG at GC yesterday. It tracks and sustains really well!!!!!!! IMHO the pedal itself is major overkill for us LowEnders. I'd like to try the MICRO POG, because it doesn't have all the upper octaves and Detuning feature. I'd also like to try the OCTOBASS. I have a 1985 Octave OC-2 and it works excellent, however for my style of playing, I'm looking for something with more sustain...

ive had the boss oc3, and currently own the OC2 and the MicroPog, and i think the micropog is for you (purely for its great tracking, sustain and polyphonic abilities) but i feel that the boss pedals give a fatter sub tone (but they're more likely to glitch-up and not track lower notes, like a B on an A string)
if you can give a boss one a go, and it works for you, then get it, if not, then the microPOG shouldnt dissappoint.
