Looks like Dean is done?

Absolutely. My main bass is a Dean Edge Pro. Nothing crazy looking. It has a Precision-type shape. I love the neck on it, and it sounds great. I've been looking at another one on Reverb, and I'm very tempted to buy it.

I tried posting a picture of the bass, but I'm having some sort of issue that is preventing me from doing that at the moment.

What do you think they're worth? There are two edge pro 5ers for sale locally by me @ $650 and $750 respectively. If one was reduced to $500, I was considering pouncing.

A bigger company will come through and buy out the debt. Dean doesn’t have a lot of top sellers right now clearly, but I don’t think the industry at large will let the brand die completely.

I doubt anyone wants Dean for the price of the debt they currently have. If Dean comes back, it will probably be because someone buys the name for far less than the current debt - the current real estate (If any), and equipment will be sold off, and the last thing the creditors will have to grab a bit of cash from will be the name. Everyone will lose, except maybe the lawyers.

The Gibson suit likely gutted an already not that profitable company of its ability to make any profit, and this is the inevitable result.

Dean basses are very underrated. I bought a used Dean Edge 5 and it was one of the best "bang for the buck" basses I ever had. Played like butter, sounded good with super low action. Also owned a Dean Rhapsody 12 string for a while.

The Jeff Berlin sig
The John Entwistle tribute bass
The Sledgehammer

They did that for 3 years for basses with their versions of the P and J which were the Paramount and the Juggernaut.

Not sure they did that at all with any geeeetahr thingywhatsits.

I've seen them. Don't know why they stopped producing them but given their current situation, maybe they should reconsider.

No idea. I bought mine so long ago, I don't even remember what I paid for it then.

I always liked Jeff Berlin's signature bass. Very well made and sounds sweet. As his new signature from Cort.

?What? Not Precision looking at all. Their Paramount is their P style bass model.
All Edge Pro's have a Flame Maple or Quilt Maple top, except beginning in 2019, when they switched from South Korea World Music Factory location to Indonesia World Music Factory location and were no longer neck thru.

Right before or a few years before Elliott passed Dean had made some significant capital investments in equipment. For a decent amount of time US Masters was making their USA made instruments. Slowly they started to make pretty much everything at their facility from pillar to post. I think they were even making cases. If Gibson did end up buying them or owning them over the lawsuit then they get a shop with a significant amount of capacity to make instruments, pickups and parts.

My guess would be the pre-amp on what is essentially a copy of his "Fenderbird".

Because it's based on John's Thunderbird with Fender Neck.

That 12 string bass, The Rhapsody 12, has been one of the longest running 12 string bass models in production.

There are dozens of new brands. What’s the value to anyone of keeping the Dean brand going? It’s not like they are Alembic or Fender or something

Yes well I live near the factory and know a few poeple there too.
The sad part is they have really "cleaned up" a lot of the issues there but now there is the aftermath.
But there is a chance the company will still be around.
