Looping lead cord between strap and bass

Both my basses have it's own cord.

that makes sense i guess, if something did go south you'd just swap basses entirely, cable and all.

i only have one bass and i use wireless (and yes, the short cable for the wireless beltpack goes through the strap with no further thought involved). i have a spare wireless cable ready, and if the entire wireless system fails it has a long cable from the base station to my pedalboard, i can yank the cable out of the receiver, slam it right into my bass and carry on wired.

how do you guys change basses or swap cables without taking forever?

not sure what you're seeing/imagining --- changing instruments is the same: unplug, unhook (strap locks) one instrument and change for another instrument...like anyone else! the system doesn't add time/'moves' to process: it actually is a faster switch because the cable and strap are hooked to each other during the switch = 0 fumbling.

how do you wrap the cable up at the end of the night with that permanent stuff attached to one end?

coil the cable like anyone else, put it in my gig bag. "that permanent stuff" remains attached to the cable but doesn't interfere with wrapping/coiling. i can wrap the strap with the cable -or- i can unhook the cable from the strap (usual routine) and they both go in my gig bag.

it's no different than anyone else. the benefit is the strain relief provided during the gig...and the fact that the system keeps the cable away from the instrument.

I actually got my Stomp Stopper and like many of the other options shown here it's super easy to get the cord out. Just unplug cord and unsnap the gizmo. Since it comes in packets of two, I have the other on my backup bass. Maybe just wait until a song break to re-hook on the new bass.

Absolutely, actually just recently picked up a TC Electronic D class amp as a backup. A bit paranoid, but it's super portable and you just never know.
