Losing my Woody?

I have no idea either. I play my Allan Woody sitting on a rug in front of the sofa, usually cross-legged. Feels fine that way. They have 3 pj Mustangs at Mr Music and a Talman but it's lime green.
Used to haunt Mr. Music when I lived in B-Right-On. Bought 2 basses there that I still have. We used to call it "the home of hacked-up Gibsons" with love. I remember the place was dripping with cheap Mustangs before Nirvana broke.

This gives me a good excuse to go into Boston and see my son who's a student there. Happy to give them my money.

Harvard Av has meters now and the new Korean/Asian fusion restaurants inspire double parking like crazy so it's best to park in the municipal free lot behind the across the street storefronts. 2 small driveways, one next to Blanchards Liquors. If I can I always buy from the brothers who own MrMusic although it's Steve I go to chat with there. (he's still in Jah Spirit playing Hampton beach and the Cape every summa) They also have a Guild Starfire on sale, but I can't justify it already owning a Woody AND a Jack Casady. Starfire is another sit down bass, very mellow rounded sound even with rounds.

I'm a fan of Mr Music as well! The old Japanese Jazz in my profile pic was purchased there back in around 1999. So glad they've managed to survive thus far.

Had to drive back up to the big city Wednesday for some medical stuff Friday. When i got to town i was in the neighborhood so i swung by GC.
I’ve been trying to talk myself into a short scale as i’m losing patience with the speed of my recovery from the procedure to free trapped nerves in my left wrist and elbow. It’s been almost two years and i’m thinking it might be as good as it’s gonna get and i’m still a long way from back up to speed.
Anywho, personal tales of woe aside, at GC i found this hanging in the wall and tried it on for a few minutes. If i’m still on the green side come Saturday and it’s still around, i’m going back after it.

Those are nice, would like to have one myself. I feel your pain brother ! I have nerve pain in my left shoulder and neck and arm, looking at going short scale as well. Been to all the best doc’s in Chicago ( Rush, NW, University of Chicago) and turns out I have to just live with my pain as it’s genetic. I refuse to totally stop playing!!!!! Hope you get relief !

dalkowski, pray tell, did you buy something? I was interested in your OP, because I also have been using the Woody as my main bass the past couple of years, and like you, I am finding it kind of unexciting and somewhat uncomfortable for my right arm, due to the edges of the body. Let us know if you took the plunge.

Thanks for asking! I have not yet (Mrs' car needs new skins), but my after-work errands tonight take me near my local GC. I may stop in to try out the Mustang and a Guild (because hollow-body love) if they have any.

Given cash flow sitch, I will likely offload the Woody before I buy the next thing.
