My long time girlfriend and fiancee broke up with me. We'd been dating several years. It hurts a LOT.

In July of last year, my wife of 24 years told me she wanted to separate. It was like having a limb amputated, and we have a daughter (12 at the time), so it was devastating to all concerned. In November, I met someone on the Internet (match.com), and she came to visit in December, and moved in for two months in January. Perhaps it may have even been too soon for me, but we were so compatible, it was like I had known her forever. We started calling each other husband and wife, even though technically we are both still married to others.

She's just left to go back to see her kid (she lives in Brazil) because the kid (who lives with her dad) has started doing poorly without regular visits from her mom, and for the second time in less than a year, the separation anxiety is totally overwhelming.

I feel your pain, and I guess that's why stuff like this makes me cry so easy anymore. The older I get, the less I can let love's carnage just roll off my back.

Hope you feel better, but I know the pain never really goes away, it just fades a bit.
