To each his/her own, but that green is awesome. Maybe try a different guard? Also, remember that the color doesn’t have anything to do with the feel or sound.

Do whatever you want to with the pickguard, but when you are playing the bass you will not be able to see the body, so why get bent out of shape over the color?

You can always cover it with stickers and duct tape.

There’s a reason why Fender started using white pickguards with certain colors. I personally do not like tort with most colors other than burst, black, white and natural, but that’s just me.

Can someone help me learn to love my Fender Custom Shop 62 precision bass? (Actually only the color)

I love the tone, the touch, the resonance and the beautiful rosewood fretboard on this bass. Actually it is maybe the finest fretboard I have ever seen on a bass. It’s pretty dark, but it has a very nice grain and texture to it.

However, I really struggle with the color. In a dark room I love it though. It reminds me of Sean Hurley’s Charcoal Frost, but it looks even nicer. BUT, in the daylight I really really dislike the green color….

I am even so far that I started thinking to let this fantastic bass go. Since I am sure I will regret it, may I ask my bass fellows for help on how to learn to love Sherewood Green?

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I think it's a VERY sharp looking bass and if it plays and sounds stellar ... even better. It's kind of a "surf" look with the tortoise shell pickguard (which I personally like). However, you might like it better with a light mint green pickguard. I have a couple of 2012 Fender American Standard Precisions (one maple/maple and the other maple/rosewood) that are finished in what Fender called "Jade Pearl Metallic" which is a light green color. Both have mint green pickguards and look very sharp, IMHO ... GREEN IS GOOD!!!

I think sherwood green is one of the best - if not the best - colour for a precision, but as I came here to say (only to have BGroovy beat me to it) the gold anodized guard, rather than the ubiquitous tort, is IMO the pickguard that complements it best (much classier-looking than tort).

It's one of the best Fender colors ever IMHO. And it only get's better with time, when the nitro topcoat turns yellow.

I'd try a different pickguard (mint green or anodized gold); maybe it's the contrast with the tort that isn't doing it for you?

I'm in the minority of not being a fan of the green, and that's ok. Not everyone likes my color schemes, that's for sure. But changing the pickguard would be an easy way to change the overall appearance of your bass. A bright white will probably make the green look brighter.

Aesthetics are important to me as well so I get not liking colors.

I concur with a lot of the other posts, a lighter pickguard would probably look better (gold, aged white, mint) or black, but that color is awesome.
