I do not get off on over-choreographed stuff. I enjoy more natural and honest talent. Miley-stuff in a different language is still just memorized moves and over produced BS. Nothing great to see here; not for me anyway.

Performing is a talent in itself. I often watch a particular 2015 live concert vid of Babymetal up on YouKu; the band plays for over an hour, with a few shred solo breaks and choreographed moves. I know it would take me a lot of time to learn to do what they do - it's a talent. So who is the real talent here? The people that came up with it. The performers are just that; performers.
wahh, no one likes the music I make! They aren't willing to pay for stuff they don't want or enjoy!Or, as I said, a $#!+ ton of money and giant stages.
I don't know what our level of experience is, but for original rock bands these days there is NO money. Your stuff gets streamed for fractions of a penny, clubs pay you in drinks, and the merch barely...
No matter how much backing something has, if people don't like it, it won't succeed. There are tons of artists that get the industry push and never catch popularity. When you have insta-fame like this manufactured band that has never played anything smaller than a small theater, its pretty easy to do cool stuff.
I find it interesting that you chose this band in particular, since this band, which produced bubble gum pop, was made up of guys who were Berkely cats and Zappa alumni; Guys who were extremely studied and could play anything.... and one former stripper.![]()
It's cool to see 3 Japanese girls covering Avenged Seven-fold.![]()
I know the dance stuff wasn't what I dug growing up but lets see what we had added to our rock in the 80's....The above mentioned Missing Persons, Pat Benatar, Lita Ford, etc. I may not dig Baby Metal, but sorry guys, young dudes who like metal will always enjoy talented (or not) front ladies who look nice.....What the hell did I just watch?
I thought the execution of the choreography, well, looked like kids.
Cute kids.
Best thing about it is it looks like this act is generating some major bucks. I like to see that. Good on them.
Props to the LD.
I see some comments saying this Babymetal is unique and fresh. It sounds like late 90s early 2000s Power Metal sung in Japanese. I mean...I guess it's unique because of the pop vocals but they put pop vocals in "Metal" back in the 1980s too *shrug*
...but I did a little research. The drummer and guitarist are bona-fide speed shred bad-asses...
...I've been a bubble gum pop music junky since the late 50's,..
