I used the GHS Precision flats for a while and liked them. Still while I liked the dark an buttery sound of them, I found myself wanting a tad more brights to my sound. I also thought that Precisions were a little floppy to me in tension and wanted something tighter. So this one guy in finnish musician forum arranged a group order for ZOG strings and I went for it. Got the ZOG flats and have been using them on my main axe for about two months now. Really like the tone, these flats have the highs but can be really low and creamy also. Real close to the Chromes. E-strings is a fatty - 0.124".

I've had problems before with some notes dissappearing or sounding really weak, especially some low notes like the low F on E-strings, but I think these strings are way better in that matter. They have really equal tone all over the board. Also the feel of the strings is so even, very easy to play. They have high tension. I like the ZOG flats and I'm really glad i took the plunge despite the critisism I've read. Strung my Thunderbird with ZOGs also

I love my ladies flat...both my P and P/J have chromes and my 73' tele even has them. MMMMMMM.....flats.

However, most of the time, I like my bass to sound like a BASS guitar, not a bass GUITAR.

I'm already in a mix with two guitars, a trombone and keys; last thing I need to do is try to compete for sonic space as "another guitar," though of course that's not the case if you're with a 3-piece power trio or whatever.
I'm additionally happy to not have to deal with a lot of the string noise I get with rounds on an active (EBMM Bongo 5) bass.
Finally, not that I'm an endorser or fan-boy, but I seriously recommend EB Flats - they come in a variety of gauges and last forever with a lot less break-in than the D'Ads.
