I think it would have the baked in tone you’d look for. The 15/6 could still replicate, but you’d need the TH to do the heavy tone lifting. Once you get closer to building I’d say call Don and have a discussion with him. I’m just trying to relay my experience and the information I have learned.

Absolutely! I’m sure he’ll be able to point me in the right direction when I’m placing my order. Your experience is exactly what I’m asking for and I really appreciate it!
So to further clarify, ha... the 15/6 is more of a blank slate, it sounds like what you’re putting through it. The single 15 adds its own character to the sound.
In general yes. Now all of this is also dependent on things like the box size, port tuning, crossover points, etc, etc, etc. But that is how I would begin thinking about the difference.
Just wanted to pass on that Don is still not taking custom orders. He estimated mid-June, but noted that it also depends on his suppliers.

I have owned so much stuff it is stupid, and some other LDS cabinets. But I think this is the best one I have owned. His version of the GB Basic 15 but in a 12 version.
It is not a neo - I bought from another person - I think they are the regular Delta eminence speaker. A little heavier but sounds great.
Not the Gk Neo 115iii or the 212ii. They thumped when I had em for live and practicing alone
The person I got this LDS cabinet had two and just sold me the second cabinet.
So my next picture will have both cabinets.

I am kinda laughing a bit. The big knob on the far right is down to off. But I know what you are saying. I always set my amps the way Steve Rabe told me to set the old SWR amps. Also I am a but goofy, I always turn down the master knobs off after use - even of the amp has a stand by. lol

That stack looks awesome. I had a couple of LDS cabs for a while and they were stellar. Probably should've just stuck with them.

Had this Cab for easily more than 10 years and the story behind it was: I was looking for a LDS cab cause I previously owned a 2x8 cab that I had let go of because it was so solidly built and was densely heavy. So I emailed Don wondering if he had anything in stock. I just so happens that he had a 4x10 that the order was cancelled on cause the client wanted 18 inches of depth as opposed to the 16 inches that this one was spec do for. It's rated at 1200 watts RMS at 8 Ohms and 50 lbs. It's sounds amazing! Don't know what drivers are in it. But got what I wanted cause it was a Brand New LDS custom 4x10 cab that when I've gigged with it.
I gotten so many compliments and yes the sound punches loud, clear and long! Thanks Don!

Finally got my second 2x12 made by Don. As excellent as the first one. Makes for the potential of an insane 4x12 stack.
Just picked up a used LDS cab based on the fEarful 15/6 - got it for a great price from a major guitar-centered retailer.
The last two used gear purchases I've received from that retailer have gone south; a bass that arrived "beat to $h!t" and an amp that died during my 2nd rehearsal with it.
So I was approaching this cabinet with a "wait and see" attitude.
But it's in solid shape and sounds FANTASTIC; really filled in the sound nicely at rehearsal with my originals band, and got the stage shaking with my covers band, which made my IEMs much more fun.
I previously owned a Carvin 1523 (or 1503, whichever 15" based 3-way cab kicked off Greenboy's experiments) and even though I upgraded the crossovers and installed a 3015LF into the Carvin, it just wasn't anywhere near as capable as this LDS cab.
So I was surprised at how pleasantly surprised I was by the performance!
It is joining an LDS vertical 212 that I've had for 4-5 years now.
Both cabs are now wearing old Plymouth Fury badges, because:
A) they sound like furies
B) a prior bandmate observed that the logo for Low Down Sound looks a LOT like the logo for the church of Latter Day Saints
Anyhow, between these 2 cabs I've spent less than $900 and the combined weight is probably less than 120 lbs. And they sound great! Total winners IMO
I hope Don gets building again, because he's REALLY good at it.
