mine were custom ordered from Avatar, so I don’t think mine were included.
Glad to hear Don is staying busy. Looking forward to seeing more posts in this thread. Don does great work and I can attest that he designs and builds some excellent cabs:
I picked up the cab on the bottom from a fellow TB member. It's a Mesa SW style w/o tweeter loaded with a Kappalite 3015 HO - 450 watts RMS @ 8 ohms. Weighs 31 lbs.
I had Don build the matching top cab in May 2019. It weighs 37 lbs. loaded with 2x8" Beyma 8P300Fe/N speakers and Eminence HF - 600 watts RMS @ 8 ohms.

Mesa just got picked up from the tech who was a genius. He had it fixed in a couple hours and really went through the design of the amp with me. I felt like I got to take a crash course in amplifier design when picking it up. He had a a vintage gear treasure chest as well which I always appreciate. This cab makes my mesa sound like a total wall of sound. Full power half volume was shaking my house with clean and clear tone not a muffled thud.
Real classic look. Bet it sounds even better than it looks!
man it sounds SO good. Man how I’ve missed this combo. Those Genz Benz 12’s just have a little magic man. The cab is big enough to fit the size of the Bassman head, but it’s actually smaller than the Avatar, noticeably lighter and better looking too. Love it so much.
Love the silver grill cloth. Someday soon I want to ask Don for a second LDS cab to join my favorite:
The Bassman 135 has an odd output tap, it has two 4 ohm outputs. So I’m hoping in another year I’ll be able to have a second cab built, so if I need obnoxious volume, I can do a 4 x 12 stack.
Does anyone know if Don is currently taking orders? I’m going to contact him directly, but I was just curious if anyone knew.
I was texting with him a week or two ago. I’m not sure. I’m hoping to get a cabinet started later this year. So I hope so.
Same here. Thinking about putting some of my corona-bucks to good use.
don got back to me. He’s not taking orders right now due to Covid. He said all his suppliers are shut down as well. So maybe mid-May or June to start back up.

On that note, I’m thinking of a 4ohm cab with either a single 15 (most likely a 15pr400) or a 15/6. I use a p bass with flats and an aggie th350. I’m not a fan of tweeters, but I’m very curious about a mid-range driver. What do i gain from the 6, tone wise? Would it be worth it?

In order to do a 4 ohm 15/6, or similar 2-way design, you'd need to find a 15 and a 6 inch with 4 ohm format. Basically the idea of the 2-way design is you get a 15 (or 12) with extended lows or XMAX, and let the 6" Midrange driver handle the higher frequencies. The cabinet would have a built in crossover so you send difference frequencies to different speakers, giving you extended frequency ranges and less baked in tone. This is really good for HiFi style amps. I used a Greenboy 15/6 and 12/6 with a Hartke LH500 and a Mesa M6 carbine. The Greenboy/Mesa combo was incredible. I've played the Tonehammer before, through my 212 and through two SL112's so I don't know how well it would pair with a 2-way speaker design. For a less modern, hifi sound, a 2x12, 2x15 or a 1x15 would have more a vintage sound built in, but YMMV.
Good info, thank you. So if I’m going for a “vintage” sound, a single 15 would be a better choice vs the 15/6.
I have a 8ohm 15/6, no tweeter. Don put a level control for the 6 speaker, which I think is standard. I’m still getting acquainted with it, I’ve had some problems with my tube head which has made it challenging as well. I just got a TC Elec BQ250 as a backup and it sounds pretty nice through the cab- at the moment I honestly think it can do vintage and modern pretty well. Plenty loud at 8ohm too.

Dude, I’m going to use that picture as my phone background because it’s so freakin cool! Thanks for your answer....I’m hoping this will be my last cab purchase ever, so I’ll take as many opinions as I can. I know I want 4ohm, because I want to get full power out of my th 350 with a single cabinet.
Could you describe what changes tone-wise, as you turn up the mid driver?
Having a tweeter control is very common. Having a control for the midrange is a bit unusual. I guess it depends on the crossover point, and whether the woofer is full range on its own.
