Low Down Sound Club, Part Four

Now you have me debating something like this instead of going with the 2x12 I was thinking of doing first. I want the same cab but in navy tolex for my Mesa Prodigy. Yours looks absolutely killer. How do you like the Faital speakers?

I like them. I'm really used to kappalites, so I'm still getting used to these. I'd say they are a tad more crisp than the kappas. I like both.

I'm now trying to decide on cab after seeing yours. Do I go two 15s or two 12s. I am not a fan of tweeters the only thing that ever worried me about the 2x15 was too much bass and getting farty or boomy with a tube head. I like a more vintage tone and the heavy tones I like are stoner and doom tones. Does this cab make that possible? The most "articulate tone" I like is Tim Commerford

I use the LDS cab exclusively in a doom/stoner band with a 200w Hiwatt tube head so yes. No farty. No boomy.

Also, if need be I've used 4" pipe gripper plugs to convert other cabs to sealed (see photo). I haven't tried it with this cab yet, but I bet it would make it even more punchy and vintage sounding. I will try it soon.

Sounds like I'm going with a ported 2x15 then! I'm going with Navy tolex and am leaning towards the Mojotone Silver matrix or Large Check and just can not decide.

My cabs have Deltalite 15s . Mine are the Eminence medium cabinet design , they handle the full 300 watts . I think they sound great , a little smoother in the upper mids and the low end is very good to my ears . They won't handle as much power as the Kappalite 3015 but with two they get very loud , louder than I need so they are perfect for me . They each weigh about 30 pounds too .Don could build a couple like this easy .

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear back tone wise. I am back and fourth between 2 Delta Lite II 2515s or the Delta Pro 15A

So Don got back to me. I’m gonna wait a bit to pull the trigger on it. I’ve got a deal in place for a Bassman, and want to make sure it goes through first. Then I’ll have Don start.

just like for bassplayer9512, he will send me the box complete sans drivers, I’ll get the drivers myself and mount them. This will be great, as I am hopeful it will have some of the magic of my old Avatar while having a more Bassman asthetic.
