Low E on Ibanez AEB10B Acoustic Bass

Hi,

I just purchased a used Ibanez AEB10B Acoustic Bass that I'm primarily going to use for unamplified practice at home. That being said, I notice that, when amplified, the low E is at least 1/2 the volume of the other strings.

Has anyone else experienced this, and what have you done to rectify the imbalance?

I have changed the strings and there is no improvement.

Thanks so much in advance for your responses.

Dave

Thanks, G.

That was one of my thoughts, also.

My choice of strings might also have something to do with it, even though I experienced the same problem with the stock strings. I put a set of D'addario flat wound Chromes light gauge strings on it but there may be a better choice. This is my first acoustic bass guitar as I mainly use an upright along with my slab electrics.

I was hoping that others might chime in with some ideas.

Thanks again for your reply

Dave
