That one was my first LEJ build. I was also using an Alleva Coppolo at the time. Both great basses but the LEJ has stayed part of my setup permanently and I sold the AC with few regrets. I think I just found my tone with LEJ basses. Even with different woods and configurations, it takes me about two seconds to find and set my sweet spot tonally in every room I play.

Sounds very sensible. I've been thinking about a four pickup bass for a while, have dreamt up all sorts of stupidly complex wiring schemes. Your solution is practical but still allows for lots of cool tones.

I guess you could do some sort of push/pull switch for series/parallel. But on my one bass that has a series/parallel switch, I always end up leaving it in one position :D

I am exactly the same :D

I never make dramatic changes to the tone of my bass in a set. I just make gradual tweaks to get what I want and then stick with it - thats my whole sweet spot theory. If I want a major change tonally, I take that as an excuse to bring a second bass......and then my guitarist feels like he needs to bring three guitars ;)

subscribed. I live in TN and have had the good fortune to play some LEJ's at the LEJ store in Murfreesboro. Brian is a great guy and runs a great shop. I am so impressed with the LEJ, has an even better slap tone than my Sadowsky, which i didn't think was possible. Is also better made than my Sadowsky. Love the brass nut.
Next year, when my tax refund come in, I totally intend to order a 24 fret classic. I would like to put some TI Flats on there and see how that sounds. Anyone used flats on their LEJ?

Can't speak from a playing or owning standpoint, but have heard a jazz bass played with TI Flats. Sounded incredible, sat in the mix very well. I only know because I asked what strings the dude was using after I heard him play, and I rarely ask people that... just had to...

I have TI flats on my new 6 classic - sounds great!
