Wow, Pacman. Holy hot !

If I'd imagined something like that when I got my all-black 6'er then both our basses would be nearly twins.

Q: Do you actually use the dots on the fretboard?

meh, maybe a little...I'm not really sure...

But, I dig the looks, and this one will sound awesome with flats....

The back of the neck is maple - I can't stand painted necks.

Thomastik makes 6 string jazz flats. I've already got them, just waiting on the bass, which I believe has shipped :D

Hi Brian,

When you're not too busy with business, NAMM preparation, family, etc. I'm sure fans of your basses and shop would enjoy reading about how things have gone (especially with the basses), where you're at, and where you think it's going. Trials, triumphs, etc. With it being the end of a decade and mid-recession/depression, it'd be a fascinating and possibly educational read.

Maybe an audio interview if you don't have time to type. People could submit questions?

Good luck @ NAMM, and all the best to you & yours in 2010.

Cool. I'm 50/50 on painted necks. I find some sticky, and some not so much. My black LEJ is painted black on the back of the neck too. Brian said it wouldn't feel much different and honestly it really doesn't . If I recall correctly, the same treatment goes on the painted nacks as the unpainted ones. Probably an individual player's hand/chemistry has a lot to do with how it's going to feel.

Thanks for the info. Good luck with the new bass.

I love my LEJ... The neck should be complete, bass re-assembled and shipped early this week!!!

I really would love Brian to make an LEP 5/21 bass! Why not? The quality of his build with a classic P!!!

Anyone tried flats on their LEJ 5???

Just got my fiesta red a.k.a "Mamacita" back from Brian. I had Tony, paint man, add dots to my fretboard. Maple board with rosewood dots. Thanks Brian! You are a busy man, working on basses, responding to emails, answering phones and shipping basses. Did I mention responding to emails, LOL. This man is a great multi-tasker.

Played my fiesta red at church today. It was GREAT! I played through my Tecamp Puma 1000...had that vintage thang going on. The Puma 1000 is warmer than the Puma 500. LEJ + Puma 1000 = "Great Combination"

I totally agree with you. The LEJ/Tec 1000 combo just sounds warm and powerful. Running two cabs through the Tecamp really seems to bring out the tone of the single coils on my basses. It is easily the best live tone I've ever had.

I recently added a Genz Neo 2x12 to sit on top of my Glockenklang 2x12. Looks a bit strange but the LEJs sound incredible through this rig.
