I got to pick up my new LEJ from Brian at the guitar show in Arlington, TX two weekends ago. I would have posted some thing sooner but I've been super busy. Anyway, the bass is AMAZING! Brian is a great guy to deal with. Everything is just the way I wanted it. And the B string is great despite the 33' scale!

specs: 33" scale LEJ 5
slim dual coil pu's
ash body
buckeye burl top
ebony fingerboard and wenge/maple "b" type neck

you can check sound/video clips at the link below. (click on "Sunday 8/25" on the right side menu. Also, I am running direct to the board through a passive whirlwind D.I.)

Greetings from Argentina...... Matt, the player makes that bass sound great!!!!

Look forward to getting back in the next couple of days and getting a few basses out to customer and also see many of you next week at the Philly/King of Prussia, PA Guitar show.

Matt, please snap me a few pics of the bass, I never got a chance too.

trip with my father and some of his friends. Its really nice here, wanted to see Daniel Fernandez (bass Builder) while here just its not going to work out for us to hook up because of my schedule with flights and all. I will be back Thursday in the shop. I know many people wanting basses and i am going what I can with what basses I have from Finishing.

Thanks and hope everyone is doing well!

"Don't Cry for me, Argentina......" :D

WTH are you doing down THERE?? Opening "The Low End South"? Hope you're having a blast! See ya when you get back!

I've recently acquired a 5 string/21 fret LEJ from g4String on the forums here, and have to say I am in love with it!

The neck is so much more playable then any of the other 5s I have ever touched, and you can tell the bass is great just by the way the body sings and sustains each note. The range of sounds available just by adjusting Bass knobs is astounding as well, completely changing your tone if you want, not to mention added Active/Passive functions (both sound great also!)

I've played Sadowsky's Lulls, Nordy's, Lakland, Tobias, MTD, Fodera....
I love my LEJ 5/21

I'm chomping at the bit to get my LEJ 5/21 back since FedEx hacked the headstock off.... :help:

Neck 3 piece maple neck w/Matching headstock (as was)
Rosewood fretboard w/MOP blocks :D
Single coil pickups ;)
New preamp/the reason it was sent to Brian in the first place.... :D

Hoping to see it in 2-3 weeks....:D Waiting for his finish spray guy....
:bawl:

Good things are worth waiting for...

Will do Brian, should have some pics to you in the next couple of days.

I'm just having a bit of a chuckle about Brian finally having a holiday of some sort :D

He has answered emails from me in the middle of the night US time on many occasions, I know he has a really busy shop to run during the day and I had started wondering where he finds the time to sleep. I had mental images of a pillow and blanket under a workbench with a giant coffee maker beside it :)

Have a good break mate. We know our basses are worth the wait.

Instead of giant coffee maker, a giant box of Reese's Cup and fortune cookies. OK, I eat the fortune cookies. LOL

Just thought I post this pic's of my new (to me at least) LEJ Classic 7/21, I was little worried about the size of the neck but turned out to very comfortable to play. I'm still figuring out the setting, but man I love what I'm getting so far. Are there any setting config examples around? if so could someone point me in thier direction.
Thx, Will

Wow, That's a nice bass Will! I didn't know you were a 7 string player! What's the string spacing on a 7. I had problems covering the strings playing fast finger style on the 6 I had with 19 mm spacing. It was great for slap though!

Me either, this is my first venture in to this realm but it's becoming comfortable.

It's 19mm, the slap spacing & sound is killer and I'm working on the speed with finger passages, I've been accustomed to my 18mm 6's. I wish I had had the cash when you sold your LEJ, man it was beautiful.
Peace, Will

Hey Brian.

I didn`t know you were coming here.
Contact me next time you come and I`ll invite the beers :)

we flew into BA and then flew to Cordoba and went about an hour north. Daniel Fernandez wanted to hook up but since I wasn't staying in BA it made it tough. If I ever come again which I would like to I will put a Bulletin out to try and hook up with a bunch of you guys.

Just got back hom and trying to play catch up now..... cool country though!!

Guys,

Had a bit of fun at rehearsal last night playing my LEJ hollowbody with a new set of DR Black Beauties. Generally speaking, if you get a chance to try out DR Lo-riders or the coated strings with your LEJs, I would definitely recommend them. Lo-riders sound huge. I have them on my 5er and they just seem to blend really well with the LEJ single coils and pre.

Just for fun last night, our singer asked us to crank up our rigs and really rip out a louder rock set. LEJs sound even better loud :D

I have set of lo-riders on my relic single coils. I love'em. I have marcus millers on my slimbucker, but thinking about changing it over to lo-riders also.

Hey LEJ brothers!! I recently played at the Latin Grammys and had my trusty 70's LEJ in hand!! Per SMASH's suggestion, I am posting a link to the performance, I actually posted it on another thread but SMASH suggested that it would be a good idea to post here too...and I agree!!
I performed with vocalists Luz Rios and David Bisbal:

The audio is decent, I believe there is another Youtube video where the audio is better but the video is not so good. Either way, I was really happy with the tone my LEJ got. I went right into a DB750 and the FOH guys took the DI from the front of the amp. They didn't mic the cab which was a DB410, killer tone BTW!! My black LEJ has an alder body, 34" scale, 2 band Benavente pre, maple neck and fingerboard, and 70's pup placement. Also, both LEJ's have a hipshot on the "B" tuner that drops the "B" down to an "A."
