Low/Mid gain drive that plays nice with Genzler Magellan

Get yourself either a spaceman Saturn VI or a Redstone. You can get the right amount of hair and some delicious saturation, use them both together, so good....
The mid scoop? The VMT is all about mids. It cuts through the mix like butter!
Maybe I had a dud! Seriously, the only mid presence I had was with the Era knob fully counterclockwise. Any twist to the right resulted in just variations of scoop. The gain staging was pretty much fuzz. Sounded ok at home, completely lost with the band.
Either a standard Fairfields Barbershop or the always-on Modele B. Sounds like tube pre pushing a tube power amp which is the SVT vibe. The Modele B meets your size requirements.

I had one mated with a Q strip...sold both and went a with a fly rig to simplify set-up. Kinda regret letting them go. The Fairfields is the "amp", the PEQ was the tone stack.

Maybe the vintage deluxe by Darkglass would be it for you. There are so many options for dirt it's mind numbing but those seem to be a hit in the bass community. I like the microtubes X personally but it might be too aggressive for what you're trying to do. A simple but nice dirt sound is the mxr m81. I used it more for the preamp than the drive but I like the sound of the drive. It's very much a useable tone. And the pedal is pretty small too.
I haven't come across a dirt pedal that doesn't work with the Magellan, it's such an open and transparent pre. The SVT-type ODs are not really my thing, so that's probably the only kind I haven't tried. The Modèle B is great, I can never keep it off my board for long, and it takes up almost no space. It's "amp-like", to be sure, but I'm not sure it's SVT-like. Perhaps I'm wrong, though, and I really do like SVTs after all
