You're aware these are ebay/paypal/credit card purchases ?

No account details leave ebay HQ,sellers only get delivery address. Stuff doesn't arrive - refund. Stuff is faulty - refund. Stuff doesn't look like picture - refund.

Of course! I made this low end purchase, being confident that eBay and PayPal will be there if the deal goes bad.

I was sharing a different experience, as fraud and rerouting made its way into the thread.

I don't see how that can be if you pay through PayPal.

ANYWAY..............enough of this, let’s get back to TB talk......

What are some mods, paint schemes, parts replacement, pickups etc you all plan on doing to your new bass/guitar if/when it arrives???

I plan on immediately replacing the strings and then upgrade the volume and tone controls along with the pickups and some shielding.

Should a CAD $25 bass show up here in a few weeks, it's gonna get an inspection. And depending on what is found, it may or may not get defretted. I have a very recent super-cheap eBay Chinese bass neck sitting here with absurdly nice fretwork. And crazy nice wood... like warmoth-quality!! :jawdrop: The only thing that gives it away as Chinese is that super-thin semi-gloss finish they use a lot. I was intending to use it for a wall-hanger display piece... but now it's very likely going to be matched up with body and hardware worth ten times what I paid for the neck. Go figure!!

Anyway I don't expect the neck on my bargain blue P-bass is necessarily going to be a gem, so the "plan A"is to de-fret it. I have a brand new Bartolini P-bass pup sitting in a box here, and lots of other hardware. Depending on the usability of the existing bridge and tuners, it might get a brand new set of Schaller lite machines, and a hipshot bridge. But maybe not! Time'll tell, I guess. Maybe some rad custom headstock art, if I feel arty... :)

I'll see what it needs first. I'm guessing I'll replace the p'ups and strings, shield the cavity and make sure the fret work is passable. If not, I may consider making it a fretless.

I do have a Maple Warmouth P Bass neck that I may shoehorn onto the body. I doubt it'll be a direct plop fit but I do have a good friend that is a luthier and he could reroute the pocket if necessary.

I may also replace the pots and wiring and maybe a new nut. I also have an old BadAss bridge that I bought wicked cheap back during the last century sometime. That may go on too.
