Lowest Priced New Basses Ever??

I called eBay right now and chatted with an agent. She basically said I could expedite a request for a refund if the item had not left China. But if it had then I would probably have to wait until the estimated arrival time for my item, which is like March 13 to April 7 or so. She did assure me that eBay would protect me if I don't get the item or it's not as decribed or some other problem arises. So I guess you folks may be able to go ahead and ask for a refund on a case-by-case basis. You may have to ask the agent to expedite your claim request. Or you could just wait. I said I'd wait until end of the week to see if anybody here actually got their bass or guitar.
I just got off the phone with an eBay agent myself and got the exact same story. Hurry up and wait :) until the original estimated ship date had passed, which would be in my case April 6th on the China shipped item and March 14th for the NJ shipped item :(

Did you talk to a real person?
I called the number and got a recorded robot response that said I needed to wait until after the original ship date had pasted which was April 6th.

Even though it shows out for delivery today.
Yes you have to wait to the end of the robot mail where it asks "Other concerns" or something like that, otherwise you will get the canned response. When I call online I just keep saying "Talk to an agent" and it nearly always works.

Are you shure it's a robot response. Everey one knows how to write !

That's what I ended up doing and got a human :) It was more reassuring but basically the same info as the auto-response info I had received. As shared in my post above:

My agent told me that if had not "shipped" I could ask for a refund. I don't know what the status is as I find different things at sites that say they can track China Post packages. USPS has my tracking number but it still only says a "tracking number has been created". However I imagine eBay will go by what is listed for my order which does say "it was shipped" but I could argue it hasn't been shipped or prove it to me ... which is what I will do. If eBay points out I am obligated to contact the seller to see what, if anything develops, I have already called to inform eBay that the seller has not responded to my recent email and so I don't expect the seller to answer any more emails, especially one about cancelling my order.

We'll, as long as the tracking numbers shows it's delivered, there's no need to wait until the expected delivery date. Mine are just hanging "in transit" for now, but hoping they will show up stateside soon.
Nope, eBay insists you wait until the original estimated ship date had passed, which in my case is April 6th. Even though, it shows it had left China and arrived here in the states and was out for delivery today in Baltimore, I live in Portland Oregon :Ol

Sounds like eBay are going to be the ones taking it on the chin in this debacle.
I don't think so. My claim was against Daco who had their Seller account disabled. Daco tried to fight my claim. That should mean that eBay was holding their funds. If Daco already had it, they would be long gone.
This isn't eBay's first rodeo :p

I suspect that people like Daco thought that by showing he was delivering something to someone, he'd get the money released before the customer filed a complaint. Instead he'll probably end up losing money - which is sweet!

So, my conspiracy theory....Let's say you wanted to send drugs across the ocean. Getting things past customs, etc could be tough. But, if you had documented orders that what you were sending was musical instruments, and the value was pretty low, then maybe the stuff you're sending doesn't get looked at when crossing borders? It's pure speculation, but given that the seller isn't making a ton of money off the musicians, there's likely to be some "angle" that's highly profitable that's driving them to do this. I'm almost certainly wrong, but on what point?

This was exactly what I was thinking....

Because I also opened a “lost package claim” with USPS, I have an additional layer... I got a call from my local Post Office this evening. I wasn’t able to pick up, but someone left me a message saying from what they can tell, I must have been given the wrong tracking number because it shows it was delivered in NJ.

So clearly, the USPS is not going to be able to help much here. Unlike eBay, they don’t have any info other than some random tracking number I was given by some guy in China. And as far as they know, they did what they were supposed to do - deliver an item to some address in NJ.

Again, I was able to call eBay this morning and start a claim. The seller has until Thursday to either provide an accurate tracking number or explain what the heck is going on or I get my money back.

So, rather than wait as my eBay agent said to do. You went ahead and stared a claim? Did your package show it was delivered?
