I'm pretty sure that was just in 1967. Chambering done for weight relief (and they did it towards the neck, so the balance wasn't as affected as if they did it on the other end of the body - not a bad idea. With CNC machining (it'd be cheap to do today), I'm a bit surprised that hasn't made a comeback.

Well..,
I got my $58 Glarry white J yesterday.
You get the star treatment for $58.A form fitting styrofoam insert,cable, wrenches,black nylon strap,pick,& cheesy vinyl gig bag.Seems a little more care is taken on the instruments that carry the boss "GLARRY" logo.Just took it out of the box, lubed the gears.tweaked the neck & restrung with Rotosound RS35's(.95-.35)
Some fun now! Low output pups but OK tone.Didnt get this from Robhe8875.
I'm waiting on 3 of the $17.95 ones from Robhe8875. One with amp from China (shipped),one from New Jersey(shipped.no tracking number)& one from a US warehouse(not shipped).
We'll see!

I called eBay right now and chatted with an agent. She basically said I could expedite a request for a refund if the item had not left China. But if it had then I would probably have to wait until the estimated arrival time for my item, which is like March 13 to April 7 or so. She did assure me that eBay would protect me if I don't get the item or it's not as decribed or some other problem arises. So I guess you folks may be able to go ahead and ask for a refund on a case-by-case basis. You may have to ask the agent to expedite your claim request. Or you could just wait. I said I'd wait until end of the week to see if anybody here actually got their bass or guitar.

I called the number and got a recorded robot response that said I needed to wait until after the original ship date had pasted which was April 6th.

Even though it shows out for delivery today.

This morning I was issued a Refund back to my Paypal account from:

I put my claim in last Thursday when my tracking number showed it was delivered to Delaware when I live in North Carolina. My claim stated such as well as pointing out the tracking number showed it originated from Amazon in Connecticut when the Seller is in Los Angeles. I have found it always helps to provide as much details when there is a problem.
Daco did try to fight it evidently but eBay ruled in my favor.

i have not gotten an email from USPS saying i'm expecting a box soon. since the china bass says it's still due to be delivered tomorrow, i'm guessing it could be delivered to someone else... on the other hand, USPS hasn't been on the ball for us as a rule.

It kinda has. My Epiphone Wildkat semi-hollow is built by glueing up a solid block of mahogany, routing it out hollow on each side of the center block, then gluing in a neck and maple cap. Saves the highly skilled labor of gluing up sides with binding, neck block, center block, etc. Terrific sustain, good tone, not much feedback because the cap, back and sides are pretty thick. For weight-relieved solid bodies I think Gibson has been weight-relieving since '83, from a few holes to full-on chambered (like my Wildkat but with American CNC machines, a thicker cap of fancier maple, and a price tag more often seen on used cars) to the ornately and scientifically designed CNC chambering of the Modern Weight Relief design. I think it's not as often seen on Fenders because they weren't so boat anchory to begin with.

HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM ON eBAY
First you need to check your messages on eBay. It is possible they automatically issue a refund but that is not usually the case.

1. Go to your My eBay Purchase history, and in the drop-down menu next to the item in question, choose Return or Item not received (within 30 days of delivery).
2. Verify that this is the item in question.
3. Click Resolve a Problem.
4. Answer the questions on the resulting page and you’ll get a link to report your case.
   You will have an opportunity to negotiate with the seller. Of course the seller may be gone, so they will give a week for you to wait for a reply from the seller, then you apply directly to eBay. If the case can’t be resolved, and eBay agrees that you’re right, you’ll receive a refund.

NOTE: Give as much detail as you can. if you received a tracking number, include anything at all that indicates something was not right. In my case, the tracking number indicated the original seller was Amazon in a state not where the Seller was. And the tracking number showed it was delivered to a state I do not live in. For those that package size is indicated & its smaller than a bass, state that in your claim. Be specific. and Be Patient as difficult as that is for some of us.

I know others are doing it - I have some chambered bodies from Warmoth. It's just odd to me that Fender, who seems to be wallowing in their past exploits (for a few decades now), hasn't figured out that they could capitalize on both a modern trend and one of their past oddities at the same time by making smuggler teles.

yes a real person called me... make sure to go to the bottom of the Contact Us page.. there is a option for them to call you so you don't have sit and wait online.
