Fairly ok but also slightly squashed. So it actually could’ve been a bit of a twisted string.SO OP, how does an E standard tune sound?
My Jazz bass became my dedicated bass for standard D and drop C tunings since 2 years now. For standard, half-step down or drop D I use my SUB USA and Ray34.Players who down tune frequently discuss the best strings for whatever tuning they pursue
perhaps your strings are not up to task.
Are you talking about hearing your bass all on its own thru the VTB?The VT Bass DI still sounds quite awful, even with the knobs all at 12...
Yea, kinda. In conjuction with my MXR M87 comp (I need that one lol). Could be that the drive of the VT Bass DI also contributes in an awful sound so far. That thing seems a really sensitive bugger. Are you talking about hearing your bass all on its own thru the VTB?
The magic of the VTB is in how it helps your bass sit in a live band mix. I've had my VTB for almost 10 yrs as my main tone-shaping tool and never thought my bass sounded awful.![]()
Yes, the controls on the VTB are very sensitive with a much wider tonal range compared to the SansAmp BDDI, so you really have to know what you're doing. That thing seems a really sensitive bugger.
