That's why I am not too keen on a certain brand(Fender). It's not really the brand or the instrument's fault, I have to keep that in mind.

... but then I got involved with certain forums and discovered the cult like mentality ...
I've never played basses from any manufacturer that felt as 'right' to me as Fender/Squier, so those tend to be what I buy.
F BASS.
That's all I will play.
I pretty much have found:
Laklands/Carlo for electric basses (Carlo is Carl Pedigo and he does GREAT custom work!)
Rick Turner for semi- acoustics
Michael Kelly for full acoustics
These basses just "feel right" and sound great to me and ALL of the companies have bent over backwards in customer service....
the CS is a huge deal with me.....huge.
I mostly play Fenders but I've shown up with all manner of basses on my gigs. But the only gear I'm what you'd call "loyal to" these days are my Ampeg amps, my A-Designs REDDI, and when it comes to active basses, EMG. I just like to mix up the basses and pedals now and then.
Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you guys out there who are dedicated to one specific brand over all others.
..............
So what basses are you guys most partial to? I am simply trying to understand what makes you guys want to spend thousands of dollars on several basses of the same brand.
.........
I don't like to bragJimmy, you play Ampeg? Really? Why have you been keeping it a secret?![]()
I used to play a lot of Ricks ... but then I got involved with certain forums and discovered the cult like mentality ... etc ... I became a lot less into Rics ... I am down to 2 these days ...
I am not a fan-boy of any brand these days ...
