Made in Indonesia

I had a Ibanez EDB 400 MiI, not bad for its price, besides the cheap pup and preamp, the input jack always loosen (heard the same from many TBers) and the fretwork is just ok

Then I sold it for Squier VM bass, it plays better but the fretwork not so good at all. I cant get the lowest action and it buzz easily.

Then I sold it for Lakland Skyline 5502. WOW! I dont have any GAS list now.

According to some videos on youtube, Ibanez new line "Premium" of guitars and basses will be made in Indonesia. The Premium bass line featuring Nordy pickups and exotic materials for body & neck, I think they will be just amazing.

I think what matters more is the name on the headstock, more than where it's made. Mass produced basses are mostly machine manufactured anyway, quality control is what makes a brand good or mediocre.

Oh, and on the "Made in Indonesia" subject, my MII Squier VM P is a very nice piece of work. Looks: check. Feel: check. Sound: check. No complaints at all about it.

Ultimately, what REALLY matters isn't where the bass was made, but how you get along with it. If it looks, feels and sounds good to you, that's all that matters. Where it was made only matters to "Made in USA" patriots (I wish economics allowed all of us that luxury) or to label elitists (who can go jump in a very cold lake). :spit:

All MHO, of course.

Where do I find these Moon Basses?? :eyebrow:

helo
I'm from indonesia
& think I understand the situation already ^,^
squire are produced in indonesia with design/look like a fender
I once try a squire jazz bazz made in indonesia
and I compare it to a fender jazz bass made in mexico
I think Indonesian squire sounds better
but yet you CAN'T compare it with USA or JAPAN FENDER one
it's tottaly in diferent LEVEL
The price also like heaven and earth
USA/JAPAN fender are sold above $1.200 in indonesia
squire are sold under $400 in indonesia
I wonder how much yu pay for a squire in your country???

the problem is my country doesn't take "perfection" problem to serious
at least not as serious as JAPANese people
so the quality control is compromized
I don't know how the quality of indoesian squier sent overseas
but here, in indonesia squire is everybody bass can buy, despite it's quality

FYI
there are other international brand now made in indonesia
YAMAHA, CORT, IBANEZ are some of them
I've tried indonesian YAMAHA B414 & CORT GB75
sounds better than any squier I've played
but yet you can't compare it with USA/JAPAN FENDER or musicman
to far ^,^
there are also original Indonesian brand like RADIX

If you want a best sound at range under $400
you should try some indonesian brand (exept IBANEZ, there to many fraud in indonesian ibanez)
the rest are not bad at all ^,^
