Good lord....There is good music and bad music in every decade and every generation. All the bands/albums you mentioned were good examples in a decade that produced an abnormally high number of 'one hit wonders'. The sixties had bubblegum, the seventies had 'Three Dog Night', the eighties as mentioned etc. etc. Each of these decades also produced immortal music. My only point is that when radio plays guide popular music, the cream rise to the top, but so does the sewage. F.M. stations tended to play the artists you mentioned, flip over to the A.M. dial and garbage oozed out of the speakers- Hey Mickey (Toni Basil), anyone? My much more important point was that there is GREAT music being produced now.
