Make Low B louder

Im really sorry if this kind of thing is asked a hundred times a day, but i cant find anything when i sear and its really bugging me.

but basically, how do i make my low b louder and more prominent, so it sounds as good as the other strings. is it an amp issue, or bass issue. its not so much that its quiet, just sounds weak.

What brand/model amp, cab and bass are you using?

It's probably a combination of both your bass and amp.

Raise the pickup height underneath your low B-string, and boost your low mids on your bass/amp. That's usually a good start

If looking for a bass solution (possibly an issue but may also be limited by cabinet):

-raise bass side of pickups (or B-string pole piece of available)



If looking for an amplification solution:

1. get cabinet with sufficient displacement and sensitivity

2. boost @ 60hz

As stated above- the type of cab U R using can affect the ability of it to allow the extremely low freq's associated with a LOW B string.

But is your B string lower in volume all the way UP the neck of the bass-? OR just in the 5 notes below the LOW 'E' string??
