Making an incredibly hard desicion

I don't think the problem is so much the choice between the girl vs the guy. As many here have said the girl is the 'hands-down' choice. The real problem is your drummer. He is flat out wrong, but the question is what can you do about it? If the band is super important to you and you dont want to rock the boat, go with whatever he says. You could say something like, "Personally, I believe we should go with the female, but if you are adamant about going with the male, then I will go along with that."

Then make sure you keep that girl's contact info. You might be able to use her in the future if the new guy doesnt work out (it happens!) or perhaps for a different band altogether.

Your dummer (sp. intentional) has his head up his ass. And if he hires The Beast instead of The Beauty, that will very well prove it.

It means he will have chosen the illusion of success - over the greater likelihood of actual success. Because he prefers the "security" of being like everyone else and merely following the pack - rather than to initiate a unique creative formula of his own... :rolleyes:

And if you tell your drummer to take a hike because you and the rest of your guys have your heads screwed on straight enough to hire her and you're in northern NJ, PM me. I'm a drummer, writer and team player. :)

No question she has the singing skills. She's demonstrated work ethic by learning your tunes and she's demonstrated flexibility by offering to share the stage.

He can do screamo but he's not extraordinary. He sells himself well and he "says he has contacts."

I know who I'd choose.
