Making an incredibly hard desicion

To the OP. Print out this tread and show it to your drummer. There are a lot of experienced players in here and there seems be about 99 percent agreement to go with the chick. As a matter of fact, I can not think of another thread were almost every TB'er is in agreement. Your tread might have set a record. Also, as someone else already said, your band's music style is calling out for a female vocalist.

She doesn't look old, she's cute and she can sing.

I don't think the issue here is who to choose, it's whether she wil even acept your offer. I woud bet there are other bands that are already scouting her.

I would bet that if you have not made an offer to her, it's already to late.

Personally I want the female singer. The drummer (the originator of the band) told me and i quote "Look at the rock scene. How many female lead singers do you see? female singers are rarely taken seriously in the industry unless they're supper hot/have Lauren's voice" I really hope the guy blows the audition this Sunday because Lauren just seems like the obvious choice. Usually the drummer and I see things eye to eye lol.

Make her an offer tonight, hope that she acepts. Then I would get this letter out asap.

Dear Male Singer,

We apologize, we are cancelling your audition. Due to an extenuating circumstance we have made our decision and we are going in a different direction for our opening for singer.

Regards

XXZ Band

Your drummer is stupid.

Hire the girl and if your drummer doesn't go along, quit the band and start a new one with the girl.

The one thing she needs to understand is that she has fat ankles and needs to wear boots or something else to cover them up. Sorry if I sound like a jerk, but it's true. She needs a stylist because she's not aware of how to dress herself. Stylists are cheap, by the way.

She wants to play with us so badly that she said she wouldn't mind sharing the stage. She was also very impress with us and she really wants to join our group. The only issue is marketability, we think that even though she is amazing it might be harder to "make it" with her in our genre. The guy says he has played in packed venues he sent me some pictures from a concert where there were literally hundreds of people. Also he has a degree in music business and he says he has great contacts and the know how to take us to the next level (I must say he sells himself really well).

Hi JumboJack,

So, what way are you going, screamer dude or cute female that can sing?

Respect

Hard work translates into good connections. The girl is working hard. I would bet she has more connections than you might guess.

I would consider it an honor to back her up. Plus she sounds like a team player.

A band makes music. The better musician should get the job. As far as claiming to have "good connections", well, I'd be pretty skeptical.

How many female singers do I see? Lots.

Watch Still Crazy and then start calling the drummer Beano.

Man oh man, this is NO contest at all. That woman is in a different league, maybe even a different planet. The guy is...well...kind of nothing, and no big deal other than to himself in his own mind. I'd have to think that anyone would love to back her. This is an incredibly *easy* decision, not a hard one.

No. Brainer.
