Maki's Two Cents (part 5)

I've been looking in to University of Zurich. Pretending that money isn't a factor, should I stay in CSUF or transfer?

I'm all for transferring to somewhere you've never been. Do it now while you're young. I've been to CSUF many times. It doesn't really strike me as a very inspiring place. It's mostly a commuter school. People drive in, go to classes, drive home. If Zurich is your bag, and the chicks from there are your bag, then roll with it brother. Personally, I'd be looking to study somewhere along the Pacific Coast of Japan. But that's just me. My two cents. :)

Wow, those are some great tracks. I'm in the process of making my first gigging board, and it's going to have three different sounds in seperate channels as planned right now: clean, EHX Enigma-->QuantumDrive (this combo simulates a Deep Impact in certain settings like I've never heard another pedal or combination of pedals do), and a fuzz with switchable octave up in channel three. I'll report in in the effects forum when I have the resources and bring it together.

I'm going to presume that you've been an English teacher for a while now. Do you find the kids get better or worse as the years go on, or are they essentially stagnant, behavior-wise?

I have a split channel preamp (Ampeg SVP-BSP). Each channel has a fx loop. So essentially I have three channels each has their own set of effects on it. So I have clean, dirty, the blend of both. Before the preamp I run "global" effects that work best when the effect the whole sound. Things like delay and flange. Then I run my fx loop through my dirty channel. I keep my clean channel on at all times so I never lose bottom end. This also allows me to control volume spikes (thanks EHX :scowl:) that some pedals have. That set up will give you a nice sound. I'd love to hear some clips. My two cents. :)

Is offering multiple grades of gas just a big scam? I mean, you only see a single-tank tanker pull up to refill the station. Maybe the tanker has an on-board "Brita" filter or sumthing...
Add to this the fact that it only looks like one big tank in the ground:eyebrow:

I think it was a bigger deal in the old days when there was 'leaded' and 'unleaded' gas. Now I don't see much of a difference unless you're running races. I always go for the lower grade. My two cents. :)

What happened to the Bubble avatar?

I still have it. I just felt that I wanted to promote some of the craziness of my buddies paintings. Google Miles Thompson. He's a bro and he's given me access to all his art to use for my band's flyers and merch. This huckleberry is from a painting depicting huckleberry hound and a hobo loving life as hobos while getting drunk around a campfire. My two cents. :)

What are your Thanksgiving plans?

In the morning I'll be surfing. It's a tradition my friends and I have been keeping for about 20 years now. Later in the day, my family is getting together with my buddy's family and we ordered up some mighty steaks from a local butcher (The Beef Palace - if you're local. It's simply amazing) and we're drinking beer, cooking up steaks and playing Mario Kart with our kids. My two cents. :)

Your thoughts?

I've learned a long time ago not to click on any links provided by username. With that said, if this is a link to The Pin Stripes the ska band then I must say that I'm a fan, but if it's a link to something else then I can only chalk it up to another link in a long string of links that suck from username. My two cents. :)

It's the ska band.

Post-Scrpit: Do you know of any bands that sound similar to The Pinstripes?
