Hi,
I hope I'm in the right thread. Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a single-germ and a double-germ malekko b:assmaster?

the germanian model is smoother than the traditional bassmaster, so i guess the double germanian is super smooth, sorry that probably wasn't that helpful

Why hasn't this been moved yet?
Single germ has less gain than the silicon model. Double germ has just about as much gain as the silicon model, but a less buzzsaw sound.

A couple reasons.
1. No one has sent a post report yet- without post reports, nothing will be immediately brought to a mod's attention, so it can get lost amongst hundreds of threads to go through. I'll send a report now.
2. A Classifieds mod might not see it even if one is browsing the forum, and mods for other forums can't move threads in forums they don't moderate.

Exactly...post reports help us out a ton. With this many people posting things each day, it's hard to catch everything. Especially considering that all of us have lives outside of TB. Moved.

Double germs are pretty rare. They are smoother and don't have this brass character that standard silicons have. Even though I think that my custom double germ was the most beautiful pedal on the planet, I sold it very quickly, while the standard one is my main fuzz for two years now.

The double germ has a more interesting character than the silicon overall, but definitely a less aggressive voice. The DG's upper harmonic is much more pronounced than a Silicon, so you get all these neat harmonic overtones to your fuzz sound.
