Mall Rant!!!!!!!

OK, my wife and I both received $125 gift cards for the local mall. It is good at any store in the mall so we decided to get some new clothes. I hit some of the clothing stores (the Gap, Aeropostale, American Outfitter, Quicksilver, and a few others).

I wear a 42/30 or 44/30 in pants and could find nothing even close to my size!!!!!!!! Everything topped out at 36 or god forbid a 40, even JC Pennys had nothing bigger than a 42/30 unless you went to thier big and tall section, WHAT THE HELL??????????

How do these stores expect to do business if half the nation can't find stuff in thier sizes? Finally Anchor Blue had a bunch of 42/30 jeans that are cut really big so I bought 4 pairs.

What the hell is going on in the clothing industry that if you arent a 31 you need to go to a "specialty store" for your clothes? (Most of the stores had primarily 31-34s, who are these sticks anyways?)

I feel like a total freak for being a large man, I am not a huge fat guy though, just big.

I'm 34/30 or 36/30 (depends on the brand and cut). I am 5'9" 160lbs and I sometimes have a hard time finding those sizes. Seems like everyones size is always missing when they need it.

I'll wear anything from 34-38 waist and 30-34 leg. It really depends on the pants... But I've had trouble a few times finding my size or the right combo of sizes.

Ultimately we need to blame the super-skinny emo kids. They're the ones skewing the size ratio.

When I was working at Polo, we had up to 42 inch waists because we just didn't really have the demand for anything larger. Stores like Aeropostale, American Eagle, etc. are most likely going to be along that same vein, I would assume.

I run a 32/32 or 34/32 depending on brand and cut, and I'm 6'0 190. I need to get myself back to the gym I don't want to go back to the 36/32 from 6 years ago.


Sorry to tell you man, 40+ is considered big and tall. I worked stock for JCPenny's for almost two years and I barely saw anything above a 38 in men's normal stock.

I NEVER go to the mall for clothes I hate the FUGGIN mall I wear 40-42 pants. I'm WAY too big to shop at the mall. We have a great Army Navy Store in town. They always have my size. I have dress shirts custom made, 6 at time, every couple of years. The sleeves are long enough and I can button the collars and wear a tie with plenty of room to breath!! I get them extra long so they stay tucked in. They are worth every penny.

I'm a 33 waist, 32 leg. 6'1 and 200lbs. I have a really hard time shopping for pants because either they are all too tight on the waist or way too big on the legs. I have to modify every pair of pants other than a few odd pairs I've found in thrift stores.

Both, they have their own brand that they sell in thier stores kinda like the Gap.

Have you paid close attention to the typical guy who shops in a few of those stores you listed? I'm not saying your "big", but the dudes who shop in places like where you went are little. Those stores are going to stock and sell the clothes that fit 99.9% of the people who shop there.

You're stuck in the big mens department at JCPenneys. I know, not as cool as Aeropostale, but you'll have to lose some weight to shop there. Or, maybe you could buy some socks at those "cool" stores you listed? Maybe a beanie or two as well?

I'm one of those "sticks," and I'm 42 years old and weigh 205.

I would buy tailored pants for dressy occasions, as you can usually get them in big sizes if you want to. For chillin' I frequently don't wear pants. In fact I'm not wearing pants as I'm writing this. However if I were to wear pants, I would wear my stretched out 32/32 jeans. It took some work to get them where they are now, but they're comfortable, loose and make my butt look great

I went to the mall today to buy jeans, I'm a 36/34 or 32. I saw lot's of my size in Macy's. I didn't bother with any of those other stores (Aeropostale, GAP, etc... hipster stores) because:

1. The size problem.
2. The price problem.


I'm not really into spending $50 for ONE friggen pair of jeans. I was in Macy's and saw a really nice pair of Guess jeans. even with the sale discount on top of my friends employee discount it would have been $55.


That's why for the past two years or so I've bought all my jeans from Old Navy. They have always have my size, even when I was a 42, they had what I needed. Prices are also easy on the wallet. Especially if you catch em on the sale day, I once got 3 pairs of bootcut jeans and two T shirts for $50. I felt liek I ahd robbed them that day.

BTW, I'm about 230lbs and 6'3".

I wear a 31/30, really hard to find my size as well. Either they don't stock many of them, or they sell really fast because I usually find one pair (that is if I am lucky) and can never take advantage of the deals.

Dude, that's my size too and I can't find jeans ANYWHERE that fit. That's 30 for the waist and 34 for length right? I'm tall and skinny and can't find any pants so...

Allow me to let you in on a little secret. Even those $50+ jeans aren't such a bad deal, because...


you only need one pair


That's right, one pair can be worn every day of the year. If you want to wash them once in a while go ahead, but there isn't any need to do them yourself if your mother does your laundry when you come home to visit. Wearing your jeans day in and day out will stretch them a bit so you can buy them a little tight.

Right now I'm not wearing any pants, but I have a sweet pair of Ralph Lauren jeans sitting next to me. They smell perfectly fine, and I paid $19 for them at Cosco. I own a lot of pants, but there's only two other pairs of pants that I regularly rotate with, and one is in my car's 'emergency kit.' That way I can drive around in my underwear in the winter, and if I get in trouble I have pants right there.
