Manring sighting in Mountain View

On occasion I wander into the night, gazing into the skies for a vision of something beyond my world. On rare occasion I see a radiant entity moving in the heavens, as I long for its perspective. Tonight was such an occasion, and Mr. Manring was the moving light and other-worldly vision.

Long had I wished to see him again, always new and awe inspiring. Tonight I shared that experience with one who had not seen him live before, but who has been listening to my collection of Manring music for weeks when I played his music during my visits. She was amazed beyond words in seeing Mr. Manring live, as I always am. It’s one thing to listen to such genius, and it’s more still to see it live, better grasping the boundless expression of alternate tunings, harmonics, ebows, and soul-stirring voice that you give to your instruments.

During the drive home, she was just gushing with comments like, “I had no idea that’s how he made his bass DO that,” and “That was so amazing!” and “We’ve got to get MORE people out to see this.” I just nodded, and said, “Yeah, we really do.”

Thank you, Mr. Manring. I just ordered three more of your works that (incredibly) I still did not have. We're really looking forward to the "Resonances" DVD. Thank you.

Fret not (grins). He'll be in Redwood City July 16th (a Thursday), and I really wish I could catch that show. Otherwise, many other places many other times (DC today, apparently). [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

You've gotten me even more excited when Michael will be at my house on June 28th for the New England GTG!
