I have a bass with Maple fingerboard, there is some wood...I do not even know if it is grain, but some people who have seen this bass said to me that if they had a bass like this one, they would not keep it. I am happy with it as I find that it is her "charm" and give her character, but as of simple curiosity, I would like to know how you would feel about a fingerboard looking like this:

No choice for 'Carrots'?

I like 'em. but not the ones that are really bleached out as much.
I like Roasted Maple too.
I like Rosewood too.
I like Ebony too.
I like Pau Ferro too (if it's not too light)

Maybe they're saying that because of the name on the headstock that you're not showing. Lots of headstock snobs out there.

To each their own, give me ebony/rosewood!

I'm definitely not seeing what ever you're looking to complain about
Read my post, I do not complain, I like it that way.

Just to be clear to most people, I am not saying anything other than some guys I know didnt like the way it look, wich is their right, it is taste after all, bit nowhere have I said that there is tension or that I am asking if I should keep the bass, I FKN LOVE THAT ONE.
So please, stop calling names peoples you dont know and remember that I only asked, out of curiosity, what are talkbass users opinion on a fingerboard like this one in an aesthetic way.

Fair enough, especially if you are the one asking for their opinions on it. If a guitar player or engineer came up to me and told me for no unsolicited reason that they would get rid of my instrument if it was theirs, I'd have some choice words for them.

I’m way more irritated by someone calling a bass “her” than I am by that fingerboard
That is what I do, I am French and I dont care

Seriously, I do not know what you would use Him? It? not Her apparently...even if it is what you do in French:
Ma belle basse que j'aime tant, te caresser tendrement avant de te slapper sauvagement.
A real love letter

They gave their opinion unrequested, I mean I didnt even know those guys from the public (and I was most impressed that they had spotted it actually) but it was just an honest and peacefull opinion like "It look weird like it had rotten, I am not sure I would have purchased a bass looking like that" so I just said that I like it especially as is as it is different, and they moved on.

If you are keeping it long enough, would it matter?

I've got a bass that looks awesome from a distance, but if you get up close maybe there are some imperfections. Hmm, actually, probably ALL my basses are like that! Like you say, each instrument has its own character - consider yourself lucky to be able to encounter the charm of a unique instrument! It's the music you make with it, not the looks. Victor Wooten told me once: all basses sound the same when they're sitting on stands!

I notice it has frets.

Relax, if you like the bass and your board is not coming apart, enjoy it. My #1 has a small knot on the neck near the headstock and in the 34 years I’ve owned it a ton of people have told me they wouldn’t own a “defective” neck like mine. Oddly enough, none of those people have been luthiers or techs. The only tech I asked, looked at and said no worries, play it and enjoy it, which I’ve done since day one.
