I have a Mim Marcus Miller bass and want to change out the preamp I'd like to put in a sadowsky but I can't find one that looks like it fits ..... Help please also is anyone selling a used one ?

Marcus Miller preamp help

I did not experience any problem fitting a sadowsky pre on my marcus miller a few years back... what problem are you experiencing? in any case i ended up selling the sadowsky and eventually installed a John East Marcus retro preamp which to my ears sounds way better than the sadowsky on that specific bass.
The sadowsky preamps I see all come with a jazz plate attached to them I'm not sure if it comes off then it fits ? I just didn't want to buy the wrong one I would be interested in the John east too is there a model I should look for thanks for helping me I appreciate your help I'm brand new to the site I'm still trying to figure out how to work it
I love sadowsky pre amps. If for any reason you want to keep the pre already in there I suggest his pedal model. The small one I believe is just under 200. US Dollars. If you are set on It I suggest a respectable tech. Roger also accepts basses with installing his pre..

with regards to the new version of the sadowsky pre, from the pictures i could find on the web it comes pre-cabled and pre-insalled on a jazz bass bell plate. it seems to me that you can get rid of the bell plate and then install the pre-cabled preamp on the marcus control plate. maybe you can drop a line to the guys at sadowsky to ask confirmation of this before buying.
