It's not that they are respected simply for being famous. They deserve respect because they got famous doing something that they are good at and that they love. If they were famour for some BS reason that meant nothing to them, that would be different.

I know someone will say something like "Well they don't really care and they are doing it for the money"etc, then think about this.

If they were in it for the money, then they would have stopped playing long ago. If they didn't enjoy it, they would have stopped long ago. If they didn't care about it, they would have stopped long ago.

ok would like to edit my previous post, i didnt mean to disrespect your opinion, i am saying musicians SHOULD have a commen shared respect for each other, like i said i dont like some bands or artists, but i do respect them as musicians, and do agree with u guys, everyone is free to post there opinion

ps- ChaosGwar i dont think i really disrespected your opinion, it was my OPINION that people should stop bashing....

Im gonna chime in now....Sorry but thats where I think you're wrong. Respect is earned not given. Just because they made it does not mean they deserve my respect. Hell I could sit in with Blink and keep up. Should I be respected for that?

There are plenty a musician out there that are much better and totally unknown that will never see the fame. Should that not be given the same repect? A good case in point is a fellow talkbasser. (Max)

Im not saying they're in it for the money or not. But chances are good that if they didnt sell as well as they did, then Blink 182 would more than likly cease to exist. They also could'nt stop if they wanted to...one phrase why "Under Contract"

I love blink..(I have a Hoppus bass) I think most people who don't like blink don't like them not because of thier music, but because of who they are, because they are popular. It's that whole "look at me I'm rebelling against whats popular" thing. Or something.

...or maybe because their last 3 cds just sucked. I got into blink with Dude Ranch, which was an excellent album. The crap that they put out after that was just boring poppy music that sounded totally different from the blink I used to know.

Or maybe I just hate thier music. I got out of the "I'm such a non-conformist. Look at me, aren't I cool" phase back in high school.:rolleyes:

lets please keep this on the topic of Mark Hoppus and off Adolf Hitler. Im in the process of deleting those that contain stuff about Hitler. Posts about Adolf are way off topic, and bound to offend more people than not. So anymore posts about him in this thread will be deleted and/or the thread being closed.

Tom sings lead in Carousel. Of course, you did say CarSouel, so maybe you're referring to a different song:D

I don't like the band, but I like some songs, carousel is one of them, and there are a couple others that I do like, but most of it is crap.
