Markbass CMD 102p extension cab question

Hello All,

Just wondering what opinions are out there on which extension cab to get for my Markbass CMD 102p. I am trying to decide between the Markbass Traveler 1x15 or the Markbass 2x10 HF model. I guess it goes back to the debate of using the same drivers or mix and match cabs. Also (of course) I have to order which ever one I decide first without being able to play one. Local dealer doesn't keep either model in stock.

Thanks for any input!!!!!!

I just added a 1x15 Traveler to my CMD 102p a few weeks ago . So far, I love it. I haven't played out with it yet but in practice even my bandmates have commented on the increase in depth and richness in tone and presence.

Thanks for the input. Both the 1x15 and 2x10 extension sound appealing to me. I did try my combo with a friend's 1x18 cab. I liked it, but it was really boomy. I also have used it with a Hartke 4x10, not too bad either but I think I am going to keep with the Markbass brand for the additional cab. Everyone likes matching sets right??

At this point I am leaning to the 2x10 HF cab, but you never know what G.A.S. will make me do;)

You asked the same question I've been mulling around in my head. I have the CMD 102p as well, and I was jamming with some friends and the 2 10's were getting KILLED by the tiny 65w guitar amp. I couldn't hear myself thing the dang guitar was so loud.

I was turned up to the point that my woofers were farting out due to over extension. I mentioned that I could drive an extension cab with my amp, and the guitar player produced a no name 15" bass cab (he also plays bass). Holy cow! That made a huge difference. The 15 with the 2x10 combo was sweet.

I'm convinced that's the way I want to go, but I want to find a 15 with NO tweeter in it. Markbass doesn't make one. The tweet in the combo is PLENTY of tweeter.

Yeah the MB Traveler 15 has the piezo tweeter like the combo and the larger 15 cab has the 1" tweeter. Not sure how different the 2 Markbass 15" cabs sound when compared to one another.
