MarkBass CMD 121p speakon issue

I realised this is an old thread now, but found it because I am experiencing a similar problem, and I havent seen many people talking about it. I have a set of 8 speakon cables I take to my bass gigs, hald of them speakon - speakong, and half speakon - 1/4 in jack, and they all function fine with all my other cab combinations, yet NONE of them work on my Markbass STD 102 HF I have so far just udes jacks every time Ive used it, but I’d like to get to the bottom of it

What connection are you using on the cabinet, Speakon or 1/4 inch?

Post a picture of your cables.

Your Speakons wired for pin set 2?
Combo jacks don’t have a pin 2 set, and wouldn’t work anywhere else I wouldn’t expect.

This is going to take some troubleshooting I think, along with some knowledge of what is correct for MB.

I know those don't have pin set 2, don't know if they still would mate with an NL4 connector.....now that I think about it probably not.
Don't have anything that has a combo Speakon on it to try!

When I sold my MB121 a couple years ago, it's SpeakOn connection became intermittent right before the sale. It hadn't been used in a while and somehow developed something on either one or both terminals... oxydation? schmutz? Hard to say, exactly.

It seems to be a bit picky about the origin of the SpeakOn plug. Are you using Neutrik or REAN-ended cables? Check with a light in there and see if there's anything like hair or dust bunnies blocking one of the "strips" that make contact. I got mine to clear up by inserting and removing my cable about a dozen times.

The jack plate itself is a fairly sturdy design.
