The AE210 is 8ohms so the F1 would run at 300watts.
I would think some Volume and Punch would be lost.
However, I bet it would still sound great!

As mentioned above, the LMII would sound great too. However, if you haven't purchased one or the other, I do find that there is enough of a difference between these two heads in the mix and match that one would be slightly but meaningfully better with some cabs than others.

The F1 really does have a lot going on in the upper mids, and the whole 'forward feel' of the amp (i.e., mid articulation) is quite a bit more noticable than the LMII, primarily due to the tighter low end (i.e., the F1 has a higher mid to bass ratio than the LMII).

Again, I use them relatively interchangable, but I prefer the F1 at this point.

Just IMO and IME like everyone else:). I was able to do many A/B's with the GS112 x 2 and GS212, since they were both up at LDS for quite a while. I remember Tom Bowlus being up there one time and we were both 'surprised' at the very nice tone of the GS212 to our ears (I think we were pounding through it with an iAmp800 and a Glock Heart Rock at our hang), since I don't think either of us are big fans of the GS112 x 2 stack with most heads.

Dare I keep this thread alive? I have a LMII on the way. I plan to put it through the paces and see how it goes. I might post my thoughts back here, that is if you guys aren't over discussing all things small and light. :D

I took the plunge and got myself a SA450 to go with my GS112. As I got a DELTALITE-II 2512 in my Aguilar anyway, the infamous GS112 midscoop is no longer there.

I went for the SA450 because of the more flexible DI (pre/post). As for the semi parametrics, I am not sure if the added flexibilty is need, but I like to have the tools at hand, just in case....

So far I really like this combo sound wise. And it is loud! :)

Hey Alan,

I believe this was a 'special run limited addition' unit. It's the same price and spec's, just a different colored face plate (I assume in a nod to the Walter Woods amps that at least some of us replaced with this unit).

Regarding readability, the stock F1 has very readable indicator lines (same as pictured above on the red unit) on each knob, so it's very easy, even on a relatively dark stage, to see exactly where you are with your settings.

I would imagine the extra cost is related to the different amp design. They are very different power amps inside... it's not just an LMII in a smaller case.

+1... class D amp versus A/B. Just like you are paying for more power with the class D SD800 versus the class A/B SA450 that are both in the same box, you are paying a touch more for similarly spec'd but the smaller form factor of the F1 versus the LMII (about $150 in the US).

So, I bought an F1 after running an LMII for a year. I really like the LMII, and if there were no F1 I would probably keep it.

But - the amp I had before the LMII was an EA iAmp 800. I strongly preferred its clean, clinical tone, especially its sweet sizzly high end, to the LMII. It just wasn't loud enough, and a little too big. And, the low end was a little over the top on the iAmp. So, enter the F1.

I'm OK with the LMII and can see how many people would find its tone preferable. In fact, I may keep mine. But if I can find an amp that sounds like an iAmp, has a few more cojones, and weighs less than 5 pounds...I have to try it.

I'll have it in a week, but my next gig isn't until 12/6. Report to come.

If you are willing to wait, how about the modular MoMark that they advertise in this month's BP? Wow - you can swap out the EQ, power, and gain sections, both when you order it and later if you want. Total flexibility.

I don't think you will be disappointed.
I love the tone of my iAmp-600, but the F1 is much quieter and I think more musical/natural sounding.
