Markbass Megathread PART 2

I bought a universal rack plate from GS and mounted my LMII to it.
Gave me room for other stuff. The ears took forever to come and by the time they arrive I already set mine up. Happy camper with this setup.

I removed the rubber feet and had to drill two holes for the back ones. I then put fiber grounding washers in between the plate and amp. Love it.

I saw that thread. It looks like a good way to do it, but I'm not sure I'd like having all the open space out front.

I just picked my LMII up yesterday and I am very impressed. I have not had a chance to test it in a gig situation, but I never thought that a rig under 60lbs would sound so good.

I recall seeing a pic of the MB ears (not sure if they are the same now) where they were sort of angled and looked pretty bad,

ie, the ears looked a bit like

Has anyone had to deal with MarkBass customer service? And if so, how was the experience? I'm not too interested in a dealer customer service more of the manufacturer. To me, an amp's quality also consists greatly on how the company backs and supports their product. Thanks.

Yes, they are angled, because the LMII is not as tall as 2 spaces. No totally clean way to do it, really. I'd rather have this than full size ears come all the way to the head and stick out on the top and bottom, anyway.

I think enchanter_tim took a full 2U plate and cut out a hole for his. Although that is more work than I am capable of.

yup, I was just reading that thread. It looked good. Just a side note, enchanter_tim now goes under the user name "Foamy" as a tribute to that coked out internet goth squirrel.

Are the screws in the rubber feet long enough to go through a regular steel rack shelf and the feet, so that the existing rubber can stay put between the shelf and the unit? I think I have one of those shelves around somewhere. I agree that I would rather have the space next to the amp to stash junk. I use a three space carpeted rack and a dolly board to keep my EX112 off the floor in my church rig. Right now the LMII is just sitting there.

Sorry it's not a close up, but it's not too bad. Sort of proves that from a far, you don't notice the angled rack ears. Plus it gave me an opening to run a right angle wire from the back of my tuner so I can use it's mute button which the LMII lacks

Yeah, and actually the gap they create is useful for me, too, so I can run wires from my wireless back thru that way.

Thanks! Actually, it's main features aren't even photographable... the weight, tone, and playability. Other than that, as much as I do love it, there's lotsa' SR5's that look this way... fairly standard combo, but I love that about it. It's a meat-n-potatoes SR.
