You guys really have me intrigued by this LMII. Now I'm really wanting to check one out. Maybe next time I'm in Austin. Too bad Bass Emporium doesn't carry it. It's almost painful to go into Guitar Center sometimes with some of those salesmen.

It is definitely a very cool little amp. Now that I have finally gotten my hands on one to hear for myself, I would recommend everybody check one of these out for themselves if they are looking for similar tone goals.

There was no Phantom Power. I was running the DI out from the LMII straight into my Bergantino IP112/EX112 stack as I have been doing for 4-5 months now.

Vic, thanks. I'll keep in touch for sure. What bums me out is that my new Nordy should be here tomorrow, but now my rig tone has changed a bit.

I'll keep everyone posted on the progress of the warranty repair.

I used my Mesa Walkabout head last night with my Bergie IP/EX112 stack. It sounded good, but doesn't have that quick, tight, well dialed in response and tone of the Markbass LMII. I didn't realize how much I love my LMII until it was gone. :crying: Gary

Ah... so you were running the head without a load... i.e., only using it as a preamp?

Correct, there was no load connected to the speaker outputs on the LMII. Just the DI out. But that shouldn't be a problem with a solid state amp should it? As I said, I've been doing two-three gigs a week for five months running it this way. Never a Hiccup. Do you think the No Load was an issue?

What other options are there again for a bag from the LMII? While it does fit the gigskinz perfectly, I'm not sure how crazy I am about its construction. The zippers seem to constantly get stuck going in both directions, like they aren't rigid enough. Also, the padding isn't much and the fake fur lined interior feels kind of cheap. Also, the top pocket is a little smaller than I'd like.

I know I can rack it, but what would people recommend for bagging it? I know Ken has the moradian bag, and that looks nice, but a little pricey. I've seen people mention the small mixer bag from Gator. Has anyone compared that to the gigskinz bag?

I decided to just go ahead and order the Gator bag just to compare the two as it was so inexpensive, but the laptop bag sounds like a great idea.

I found a Dell laptop bag, probably for an older model laptop. I like it because the padding is much firmer than the Gigskinz bag and it has wide velcro straps that hold the LMII very securely inside. It makes it a bit bulkier and heavier to carry, but any decent outer case would anyway.

No. SS amps have no problem with this. Only tube amps.

Yes. This is true... their input sensitivity can be set much higher (or lower, as it were) than most PA style power amps, which is why the IP series would actually work pretty well for this. You can actually set the IP sensitive enough to get great, tho maybe not max, output even without any additional gain stages between a bass and the IP.

However, IMHO, this is a unique special case.

They do! you just need to special order it.
They're stored (for now) at the GC Distribution Center.
If your salesperson can't find it in the computer, the product code is 104386347.
The Little Mark II rack ears are available the same way, product code 104507108.
