They just have to "fudge" it that way to work in their system. The head is $599, including the warranty. Period. Just like Ken says. It's part of the GC/MB distribution deal.
I just picked my LMII up yesterday and I am very impressed. I have not had a chance to test it in a gig situation, but I never thought that a rig under 60lbs would sound so good.

What kind of sound do you get with the LMII and the Schroeder Cab. Is the Cab a 1210r, 1210l, 1212r, 1212l?
I have the 1210r. I'm not the best at articulating sound, but I'm assuming you are familiar with the Schroe's and the mid heavy tone they have especially the 1210.
They aren't the cab you want if you are into solo sound, but at a gig when you want to hear yourself is where it will shine. Not to mention they are small and light and easy to schlep. In my breif experimentation with the LMII, I have found that the VPF is pretty handy with the 1210 as it scoops a little bit of the (for lack of a better term) "honk" out of the tone. The LMII's EQ points seem to be right on at least for me and my equipment. I find they are very intuitive and useful. The 1210 will respond to EQ and you can dial in some lows. It will get plenty LOUD!!!
KJung pairs a LMII with a 1212L and by his accounts it would seem to be a better option than the 1210. As I stated earlier, I haven't had a chance to gig with the combination yet so take that for what it's worth.

That is exactly what I was needing to know, Thanks. I have been using my old hartke amp and 410 cab for 11 years now and I am finally upgrading. I have decided on going with the LMII but have yet to decide on a cab.
My LM II was purchased at GC in Great Northern, Ohio.
I paid $599.00 plus the warranty. This was the 12 month same as cash.
Still, I'm happy. Allot of people can't even get the heads up here.

I assume that was a while ago. They owe you a refund, and will gladly give you one if you call them. As usual, I bought mine very early in the distribution build, and I had to work with them to figure out the price (that was quite a while ago).
Even if you purchased recently, if the Markbass line was just rolling into that particular store, the sales person might have been confused, since the required warranty comes up as a separate line item on their system. They need to apply the 'sales discount' to the $599 list price of the LMII, which 'happens' to be exactly what the warranty costs.
Call them up and explain this, and your sales person will say 'oh, yeah, that's how that works' and credit your card or send you a refund.

I run a 1212R with my LM2 and I absolutely love it. It is so portable but VERY loud and the tone is magic. So far I have just run the eq dead flat with the filters off and tweeter at noon. I keep playing the same stage though... and I think it accentuates the lows a bit being wooden.
Gotta say my GAS is cured!
Very cool! Is that a JDI I spy in there? Do you like that more than LM-II's DI?
And speaking of Warranty, my LMII is 5 mo's old, but last night, at a 9/11 Memorial Biker Run Gig for over 1000 people, my LMII died. Quit working. No power light, no fan, no nuthin.
The audio cut in and out for a few seconds and then no power. It was dead, ...as a doornail. Sigh. Luckily, I had my Bergie IP112/EX112, so I plugged in direct to the Bergie and got the gig done.
I popped the cover and can't see a fuse anywhere. Nothing is loose or disconnected to the naked eye.
FYI - I was using the LMII (DI output) for this gig. The Master volume wasn't even engaged. It was set at 9 o'clock, but with the DI, it has no affect on volume. So I was just using the Input gain as usual (11-12 o'clock), the EQ settings were fairly flat. VPF at 11-12 o'clock. Nothing out of the ordinary going on. I've been gigging with the LMII as my Preamp (using the DI Out) for the past 5 months without a hiccup. I've also used the LMII to power a Bergie HT112/EX112several times.
I went to Guitar Center and was told to call the 800 number on the Warranty document. They said I will be issued a no charge UPS tag and that it will be repaired at no cost. Not even shipping. I have no idea how long it will take, or whether it goes to Italy, or somewhere in the US. I was hoping GC would give me another one, but nope. This needs to go out for repair I was told.
So here we go with a warranty claim on an LMII. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Yeah, I know. And selfishly, I wish it was someone else who could inform us about the warranty process! But alas, it's ME.
I gig 2-3 times a week, so my LMII see's plenty of action. I am generally fairly gentle with it.
I LOVE that thing! Hopefully the warranty will go smooth and it will be repaired quickly. Sigh

That's a pisser. This stuff seems pretty well made, and given the massive number of people using it with virtually no comments about 'great service'
, I hope yours is a relatively isolated incident. Sorry... I've had some stuff blow up, and it's just a total drag. I have a feeling your will be taken care of. Let us know how it goes.
Gary, the same thing happened to me on my first gig with the LM II 210 combo. I think they call it a CD210.
I was at a gig, used an Epifani 2 x 10 (thus running a 4x10) extension speaker...and that thing died within 5 songs.
Within a minute or two the combo amp came back on...and had no problems for the rest of the set. Luckily I had my Epifani UL502 as a back-up....so during break made a quick change.
I unplugged the power cord,etc. I thought at first it was the club's bad power.....but when I returned to GC, it did the same thing to them. I returned the combo amp back the next day & took the LMII amp head instead.
FYI: Eq flat, the VLE-11 oclock / the other filter at 12. Master was at 11 o'clock, gain was at twelve.
In fairness to MB, the head has worked great. So far, no problems.

Was the desk running Phantom power??????
Could a LM II be ruined if the soundman sends phantom power thru the desk to the XLR of the head?
